CHAPTER TWELVE :

She made two cups of coffee and came inside his room without knocking. He was standing near the window and was lost in deep thoughts. She took a deep sigh and went near him and offered him a cup. He took it from her hand without looking at her.

'Have you talked to her ? Is she fine there ?' He asked worriedly.

'Allah Miyaan ! What's wrong with you Asad ? She left this house like three hours ago. How can I call her tonight ? She is married now.' Zoya reminded him. She couldn't say that its her wedding night.

'You are right but she should have called me when she reached there. Should I call her ?' Asad asked while looking at her. She was sitting at the window infront of him so she can see him.

'Are you mad ? You will call her tonight ? She has not gone on a trip she is married. I mean she must be busy.' Zoya said annoyingly and he was quiet for a moment.

'So you like Osama ?' He asked suddenly and she raised her eye brow. The only thing that was running in his mind from last few hours.

'Sorry ?' She wanted him to ask that again.

'I asked do you like that Osama ?' He asked while looking into her eyes now. She took a sip and nodded in negative.

'He is engaged.' She told him.

'Thank God !' He was satisfied at that and said like a whisper. He knew she won't lie to him ever. She was still looking at him.

Is Najma right ? He really loves me ? Why can't he say that ? If he can't see me with any other guy then why can't he marry me ? There were many questions running in her mind.

'What if I like him ?' She asked suddenly.

'Sorry ?' Asad wasn't sure what he heard her saying.

'I asked what if I like him ?' She asked again. He felt like a stab in his heart.

'You shouldn't.' Asad said in low voice.

'Why ?' She asked the next question.

'Because you deserve someone better.' Asad said while looking into her eyes.

'Who ?' She asked. He felt her like eyes were having so many complainsts. She was behaving different today.

'Someone who deserves you.' He said and walked to the other side of his room and took out a book from his shelf to show he is not interested in this conversation.

'And who deserves me ?' She asked him.

Is she going to stop this game or not ? He thought.

'One who can take good care of you, who can protect you like his own life, who loves you, he should be having a pure heart, no other girl should be in his life and no bad habits too. And that is definately not Osama.' He told her the list he wants in the guy she will marry and his decision without looking at her.

That's you, Asad ! No one else can do all this for me other than you. She thought but couldn't say it like always.

'And you will look for him ?' She asked and there was no response from his side.

Maybe he is having the same feelings too. Maybe he cannot see me with. . . . . . .

'Yes !' He said suddenly and she was shocked to hear that. She felt like killing him. Tears fell from her eyes even though she tried to control herself. She stood up to go out. He didn't stop her and heard the door closing. He turned back and the place she was sitting was empty now. He felt like his life was empty without her.

She was quiet for the next two days and he was busy too. Dilshad understood that they have fought again but didn't ask the reason from any of them.

She was quietly doing her breakfast and he was looking at her face again and again with the corner of his eye.

Dilshad was looking at both of them and was going to ask them what happened between them when Asad started talking.

'Ami, I am going to Delhi for two weeks.' Asad said while looking at her that maybe she would atleast say goodbye to him.

'Puphi, wish me luck. Its my exam today.' Zoya ignored what he just said and stood up to go. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

Why is she doing all this ? How many times I have told her that I don't like this ignorance but she only cares about herself. Only about her own feelings. He thought angrilly.

'Best of luck Zoya and take care of yourself.' Dilshad said with a smile. Zoya looked at Asad before going and walked out.

'Ami, I think you have spoiled her alot. Just look at her, she can't even say good bye to me.' Asad said angrilly.

'Don't take out your anger on me Asad and besides correct your sentence because I think if she is spoiled then that is done only by you.' Dilshad said with amusement.

'Me ?' Asad asked her.

'Yes you ! I still remember that sweet and innocent Zoya I made her and then you came back to our lives and turned her according to how you wanted her to be.' Dilshad said to irritate him.

'I never wanted her to be like this. I just wanted her to enjoy her life and today when I look at her I feel like she is just enjoying ignoring me.' He said with worried face and Dilshad laughed at him.

'Well ! You deserve that. You taught her all these things like ignorance, shouting, acting, lieing sometimes, being funny all the time and moreover you gave her back her confidence and I love you for all this.' Dilshad said with a smile. Asad smiled back too.

'But that was like childhood, I don't do all this now.' Asad said rememberring her rude faces again.

'Yes because you taught her all this in her learning age and now she will stay like this always and you have to handle her.' Dilshad showed him his bright future. He imagined for a second and then stood up ignoring what she said.

'I have to pack my stuff, I am getting late.' He said in serious tone.

'Do meet Najma before leaving to Delhi, they are leaving for America tomorrow.' Dilshad said on his back.

'I will meet her before going to the airport.' Asad said and walked back to his room while Dilshad was still thinking about why he ignores this topic always.

FLASHBACK STARTS :

He was sitting on the rolling chair and looking at the rain from the windows. He came out of his thoughts when someone knocked at his door.

'Yes ! Come in.' He said and Zoya enterred his room. She was holding a paper in her hand.

'I am not disturbing you, right ?' She asked confusedly.

'No, you are not. Sit !' Asad said and she sat on the couch near him.

'But you seem upset.' She said and he smiled.

'No, I am not, rain reminds me of some bad memories of childhood. Thats it.' He smiled again.

'Well in that case, I am on right time to distract you.' Zoya said naughtily.

'And how will you do that ?' He asked.

'I have to give you something.' Zoya said and gave him the paper.

'What is it ?' He asked while taking it.

'Just take a look.' Zoya said and he unfolded the paper.

'This is just wonderful.' He said with a smile and Zoya was happy to know that.

'Thank You.' She said.

'But I thought my face is not for good for sketching ?' He said confusedly.

'That time you were not my friend so I was avoiding you.' Zoya said with sad face and he smiled.

'Am I that good looking ? Or its just magic of your sketching ?' He asked while looking at the sketch again.

'Ofcourse this is my magic.' Zoya said proudly.

'That means I am not good looking ?' He asked sadly. She looked at his sad face and smiled.

'I haven't seen a man as much complete as you are.' Zoya said while looking at him. He looked at her in shock.

'Now I think my magic is surely working.' He said with a smirk on his face.

'You wish !' Zoya said. ' I was just trying to distract you.' She lied to him.

'Well ! Then I am happy that you did that.' Asad said with a smile.

'Lets go. Najma is waiting for me already, we both love rain so we are going out.' Zoya said.

'But where ?' He asked.

'Don't know, we will decide it in the car. Just come.' Zoya stood up.

'Ok. I am coming in five minutes.' He said and she walked out of his room.

He changed and came out of his room. Zoya was reading a magazine while Najma was not there.

'Where is Najma ?' He asked.

'She went to call puphi from her room, I thought she should also come with us, they both will be coming in five minutes.' Zoya said while turning a page. He sat on the couch infront of her.

'I am going back in two days.' He told her but there was no response from her side. He looked at her she was lost in the magazine.

'Zoya ! I am talking to you.' He said again but she was still lost.

'What is in the magazine that is important than me ?' He asked and grabbed the magazine from her.

'There is nothing, just leave it !' She said and he felt that she is trying to hide something from him.

'Let me see Zoya.' He said and looked here and there on the page and his gaze stopped suddenly at a news.

'Aafreen Rehan tied the Knot'

He read the heading. He looked at the details while Zoya was getting worried about him. Aafreen was an upcoming model who was only twenty years old and married a man who was almost 30 years older than her. The name of her Husband was 'Rashid Ahmed Khan'. Asad stopped for a second then read further.

There were details about his personal life like he was marrying third time and at the end reporter gave his opinion that after so many affairs and marriages Aafreen should be careful that her husband shouldn't get married for the forth time.

'Asad just listen, maybe this is just a misunderstanding.' Zoya said to him and he threw the magazine away. He stood up and walked back to his room and started dialing his father's number.

Zoya took the paper from the floor and hided it in her room so that Najma couldn't see this and came to his room.

'Do you have any idea what you have done ?' She heard him talking to his father.

'What have I done ?' He asked.

'Now I understood why you were stopping me to come there so that no one can stop you from this marriage.' Asad said angrilly.

'Who the hell are you to stop me ? Just tell me who told you all this ?' Rashid wasn't guilty at all.

'I read it in a magazine.' Asad told him.

'Which magazine ?' He asked.

'Why ? You will stop them from telling the truth to the world ?' Asad asked him.

'Why have you called me ? Just come to the point !' Rashid asked him.

'Why did you marry her ? Do you have any idea she is 30 years younger than you ? What about your second wife ? She allowed you ? What about your other kids ?' He was going through so many questions and Zoya was looking at him. He was sitting on the bed now but he was turning red with anger.

'You are no one to worry about them, that is my problem. I have booked your ticket for day after tomorrow, you can come now. Anything else ?' Rashid asked. Asad felt like killing him at the moment.

'How would I face everyone there ? What would I answer to all my friends and cousins there. You have made a joke of my life !!!' Asad said angrilly and Zoya closed the door so no one can listen to him.

'Just tell them that this is my personal matter, I am busy right now so we will talk when you are here.' Rashid said to him and cancelled the call.

Asad threw the phone on the bed and covered his face with his hands. She came near him even though she was scared from him.

'Just wait and watch ! I will definately leave him one day. I just want to make enough money and settle my career.' Asad said loudly to no one.

'I know you will but right now you need his help.' Zoya said. He looked at her she was looking more mature then her age.

'I am fed up of this life.' Asad said again. His eyes were wet now.

'Please Asad, you are always making me understand and now you are the one who is thinking negative.' Zoya said to him.

'Then what should I do right now ?' Asad asked her.

'Just forget about all this right now, you can't change many things in life. Thats what you said to me so just compromise with this one too.' Zoya said with a smile.

'Stand up, we are going out now. Its a treat from my side today. Just enjoy your life with us for now.' Zoya said.

'Can you leave me alone for some time ?' He asked.

'No ! I won't. I don't want Najma to know all this and you behavior will make them feel that something is wrong. So just get fresh and lets go.' Zoya said.

'Ok. I am coming in five minutes.' Asad said with a smile and she left the room.
