Dill Mill Gayye With Armaan Ridhimma and Siddhant - Retro Reel

Dill Mill Gayye, as the name itself suggests, was the romantic saga of Armaan and Riddhima that started on Star One back in 2007. Produced by Cinevistaas, the story revolved around the personal and professional lives of the doctors and interns at the hospital Sanjeevani. Dill Mill Gayye can be considered a part 2 of the earlier Star Plus series Sanjeevani with new generation actors. Monish Bahl who plays the character of Dr. Shashank Gupta was one of the actors who was seen both in Sanjeevani and Dill Mill Gayye.

The story was a love story blossoming between the interns and senior doctors.The series' lead actors were Armaan Malik and Ridhimma Gupta.The heartthrob Karan Singh Grover played Dr. Armaan Malik while the character of Ridhimma Gupta was played by three different actresses from the time the show started. Shilpa Anand, Sukriti Kandal and finally Jenifer Winget were roped in to play Dr. Ridhimma Gupta. Their pair with Karan Singh Grover a.k.a with Armaan Malik in the show was extremely loved and cherished.

Every time Riddhima Gupta was replaced in the show, the show saw a different twist and it took a new turn to make the audience like the new actress with the actor playing Armaan Malik.The show saw various twists and turns.Some of the prominent twists were Riddhima getting to know that she is Shashank Gupta's adopted daughter.

Next in line of twists were where Anjali [Shashank's daughter (Vinita Malik)] and Ridhimma get their father Shashank married to Padma (Shilpa Tulaskar/Ekta Sohini), Ridhimma's real mother. With the love story of Armaan- Ridhimma gaining momentum and facing opposition of Shashank, the love of Armaan and Riddhima proved to be to die for where the both of them would go to any extent to protect each other.The audience in real terms got to see "pyaar kii taaqat" with Armaan Riddhima's love story.

The season one of DMG ended with Shashank's acceptance of Armaan Riddhima's relationship but fate had other plans. In a dramatic turn of events, in between a fight in the hospital Riddhima is shot while Armaan hits his head on a glass.Then came the season 2 of Dill Mill Gayye with a new batch of interns and Armaan Riddhima being separated.

With Riddhima being a senior doctor, the story picked up and the creatives created a new pair of intern Siddhant Modi and Riddhima.Though this pair had its fair amount of admirers, the ardent fans of Karan Singh Grover demanded the come back of their favorite character Armaan Malik.The creatives had to bring Armaan Malik back but by the time he came back, Ridhimma under some circumstances, had to marry Siddhant Modi. With Armaan being back in picture Riddhima was left confused and stranded between her love and her marriage..

In between all this Armaan and Siddhant formed a bond of friendship and the creatives introduced Shilpa Anand in the show again, but this time as a different character, Dr. Shilpa.Though the production house and the creatives tried to make the audience accept the pair of Siddhant-Ridhimma and Armaan-Shilpa. But the ardent viewers of Dill Mill Gayye who are watching from the very first episode irrespective of the twists, turns and replacements could not accept any lead pair in Dill Mill Gayye except Armaan- Riddhima. Thus in the show the creatives had to pair Riddhima and Armaan in the end.

The last scene of Dill Mill Gayye aired on October 29th 2010. In the last episode a beautiful tale of love reached its destination just so that it can begin a new journey. The last episode could not have been more perfect than what it was where Riddhima goes down on her knees and professes her love for Armaan. Riddhima sang Asmani Rang Hun...Pyaar Ki Boond Hun...Roshni Ka Ang Hun Main Teri Dhup Hun...Saaya Tera Mera Aashyiaan Tu Mera Armaan Hainnn'...with tears flowing freely, the feeling of accomplished love was evident after all the hardships and troubles. Armaan and Riddhima whose hearts had met and loved each other from a long time got a picture perfect end of being eternally together forever proving love is beyond anything and everything and love creates magic and does wonders.

The show was indeed a class apart and went on to prove that True Love' crosses all barriers, hurdles and always emerges out as victorious.Even today the audiences want to watch the repeats of the show and even today the fans of real life couple Karan Singh Grover and Jenifer Winget (Armaan-Ridhimma) fondly known as KaJen wish and hope that they get to see their favorite pair back on screen together and KaSh (Karan Singh Grover and Shlipa Anand) fans too wish to see their beloved onscreen pair back on TV screens. Dill Mill Gaye was surely different and it did set the standard of love way apart from others.

I- i wish i was in even more righter place in the righter time. i understand it was Mr. Karan Singh Grover visited you guys today.

P- yeah, we just met.

I- So, I just want to tell you in the meantime, imagination is running wild.

P- No need to think about anything. Karan actually bohot dino ke baad by default mill gaya hai humko. We just caught up.

I- You are creating and then Mr. Grover comes in. So, what do you expect fans to put two and two together! Did he share Palki any plans with you guys, that you can share with us?

P- I am nobody to share anything. Nothing about that. It was nice meeting him after a long time. He looked very different. Because, he has a big long beard which everyone knows about out these days. Yeah, he is happy right now. Much more relaxed. I don't know why you are asking (laughing) i am not a spokesperson of Karan.

I- Because, he came to meet you today.

P- Just today morning I got two phone calls back to back. I genuinely thought they are D3 fans. Kiyuki ab mujhe D3 ki call aate hai. Dill Mill Gayye ki nehi aate hai. Matlab isiliye nehi aate kiyuki mujhe ummed bhi nehi hai aur maine aadhe logo ko block contact mei rakkha. And that phone call fans kept saying ap kab kar rahei ho? I was like 'what'? It was amazing. and couple of days back in mall a girl walked uo. said, 'palki maa'm'. and i said, 'yeah'. i thought yeh D3 ki fan hogi. but she actually said that she loves my work. I said thank you for D3. but she said, 'i am talking about dill mill gayye'. I said, 'what'? so its amazing to see that kind of word even at this time. the light of fame that i got just because of dill mill gayye!

Finally the enormous love of audiences and our continuous efforts to unearth the truth behind Karan Singh Grover aka Asad Ahmed Khan's expulsion from Zee TV's popular daily soap 'Qubool Hai' have been rewarded as Ajay Bhalwankar, who has been the Content Head (Hindi GECs) of ZEEL since last 17 years, has stepped down from his post.

We have been taking up the questions of show's audiences who were not ready to believe Ajay's claim that Karan Singh Grover behaves irresponsibly and often comes to the sets drunk. Looking at the viewers' love, we have been raising questions that is the reason of Karan's elimination as Asad have been manipulated? And finally the efforts have paid.

Ajay decided to step down without giving any proper reason but it is being speculated that after Karan's sacking from the show, he wasn't feeling comfortable working with ZEEL as viewers were continually pouring hatred comments against the show-makers.

However, it is also being said that after serving ZEEL for around 17 long years, Ajay Bhalwankar has been forced to resign for the sake of viewers' interest and negative response from media.

We also conducted some polls in regard to this matter and we received thousands of mails and comments in favour of Karan Singh Grover. Every viewer of the show wanted him back as Asad on Qubool Hai. When we asked our readers who is better as Asad Ahmad Khan on Qubool Hai, the results were quite anticipated as 96.59 percent voters voted for Karan while mere 3.41 percent were in favour of Raqesh Vashisth.

We also asked our readers that if Karan Singh Grover's exit reason manipulated? And viewers again fell for Karan and 87.77 percent said yes while just 12.23 were saying that no the given reason is correct. The fans even ran several trends over micro-blogging website Twitter

Meanwhile, it can be termed as a victory of the audiences as their love has forced Ajay Bhalwankar to resign and can even bring Karan Singh Grover back on Qubool Hai as Asad Ahmed Khan. The speculations are already on a high that the channel has taken the decision to bring Karan back with the show.

Let's see what happens next as the undying love of the audiences can prove as a fortune for Karan Singh Grover or Ajay's stepping down has different reasons behind.

Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done: the Case of Karan Singh Grover

Ajay Bhalwankar, content head of ZeeTV, was no doubt asked to resign by ZeeTVs executives because of the botched attempt he lead to malign the reputation of Karan Singh Grover and the relentless campaign by Karan's fans to get him justice. Nothing less than a public apology from ZeeTV to Karan should work and fans need to keep up the pressure. Justice must not only be done but it must be seen to be done for there to be closure.

Bhalwankar used the largesse of ZeeTV to rub into Karan's face that he is dispensable and poured a ton of the channel's money in his ego battle with himself. No small screen actor must have ever dared to walk out on ZeeTV before and then ignored the channel. Standing ovation to Karan for what he did.

However, the media in India leaves a sour taste in one's mouth. No one in the mainstream media sought the truth. Instead, they published wholesale what ZeeTV provided to them and accepted ZeeTV's word over Karan's. The cartel media practice shines through. Bhalwankar "resigned" but Karan was "sacked". Any reporter with an ounce of brain cells would have realised that an actor out of a contract cannot be sacked. Naturally, the logical sequencing of Karan's explanation fell on deaf ears. This clearly show how little the media in India is interested in the truth. Sensationalism sells. What was the whole truth behind the Qubool Hai saga that saw Karan leaving the show? We may never know because Karan stayed silent on salient issues for reasons unknown and his silence was manipulated by ZeeTV and Bhalwankar. The truth appears to be closer to Karan refusing to work with ZeeTV and the channel retaliating with a vendetta slur campaign to malign him as a drunk and as unprofessional. Hence, a ton of money being poured behind a butchered and inconsistent story line in Qubool Hai.

Karan Singh Grover is undoubtedly India's most bankable and gifted television actor and at a time when he was sick and vulnerable, ZeeTV took advantage of him. ZeeTVs executives owe Karan an apology and that too publicly. Karan name sells. ZeeTV can testify to this. ZeeTV agreed to air 4Lions Films minority muslim background show on national television when no other channel wanted to touch the subject. Why? It had the bankable Karan in the lead. Karan's comeback was much awaited. Even before Qubool Hai was launched, the hype around the show was enormous because an entire crazy fandom was awaiting his return. Fans were blind to religion or to genre. Little did it matter it was going to be a family drama or a show with a muslim backdrop. All that mattered was Karan was coming back. Karan's fanbase exploded. And muslim shows are now coming back. All thanks to Karan and 4Lions Films.

Ironically, nothing that ZeeTV has ever said about Karan has stuck. Its accusations of unprofessional conduct nor its use of its largesse to rub into Karan's face his dispensability made any leeway in dampening the fervor for Karan's return. Rather, ZeeTV's strategy backfired, and made ZeeTV into a monster for trying to break the spirit of an actor who was clearly not well. All that ZeeTV succeeded in doing was to cause Karan's fans to rally around him like an embryonic shield and it tarnished its own image and became a big corporate bully. ZeeTV botched PR made Karan into a vulnerable icon. Karan is really blessed in that his silence for whatever reasons, was never questioned by his fans. They instead banded together as keyboard and phone warriors and daily sought creative means to win him justice. These warriors are not relenting and they are growing in strength and numbers. Hats off to these fans. Without direct support from Karan or his immediate circle (wife Jennifer Winget or father Amit Pal Singh), they waged a battled on Karan's behalf.Jennifer silence has been strange given she is an actress in a daily soap and was on more than one occasion asked about Karan but refused to answer. Both Jennifer and Karan's father are alsoTwitter aficionados but to date, have not issued statements on his behalf nor in his professional support. Instead, it is Karan's fans who have been leading the charge in this battle, using every social medium possible and a few small media outlets have also taken up the gauntlet.

It is not too late. Jennifer and Karan's father can still issue statements in his support, debunking ZeeTV claims that Karan was unprofessional or a drunk and demanding a public apology from ZeeTV for Karan. Jennifer may prefer to weather controversies in silence, but it would be a public relations coup if she issues a statement, even now. The vicious attack on Karan by ZeeTV may have been called off with Bhalwankar's replacement but Karan is still owed an apology. And the national media needs to pay attention. Until now, it has been the small media outlets which took up the battle on behalf of Karan. If Jennifer issues an outright statement, Times of India, IBN and the Hindustani Times among others would be forced to respond. Karan also needs to consider a no holds barred interview as the time is now opportune. Silence will only breed more speculation about his health, his marriage and his career. Keeping a dignified silence when slander and untruths are festering is a disaster in public communications. This is the age of global communications, where the social media has immense power and support for Karan can be found in masses here. If Karan is better, as Jennifer has reported, then it would be prudent for him to give a candid interview to a leading television station. Private and sensitive issues can be managed with diplomacy, and Karan is certainly eloquent and articulate enough to manage such an interview.

It has been over a month now since Karan left Qubool Hai. Life on small screen is not the same. ZeeTV is yet to initiate legal action against Karan as it has no leg to stand on. No contract, no cause for a legal action. Karan actually worked outside of a contract with ZeeTV which attests to his commitment to the show. And as per ZeeTV, 4Lions Films was willing to butcher the show's narrative and trajectory to keep Karan. This affirms that the production house did not have a problem with Karan. ZeeTv also clearly had no moral authority to call Karan unprofessional and accuse him of holding up production when as per the script, Karan was not required for shoots on a continuous basis because of limited screen presence requirements since September. ZeeTv actually comes across as an utterly repugnant bas***d for not giving Karan time off for medical checkups but was willing to wait several weeks before it could cast his replacement and then mount a slur campaign against Karan.

It is not over as yet. An apology is still needed. And Karan's comeback is much awaited. He talked about wanting to direct his own show. Whether he returns as a director or behind the cameras, fans are anxiously waiting.
