So i owe everyone here an apology! Sorry for not updating soon like i said i would. I have an explanation though... Actually this story was supposed to be based on something similar to my reaal life experiences... and since its a love story obviously its about me and...someone... Well lets just say turns out, someone turned out to be a dig duffer, things got messy, and i just felt out of it when it came to this story but not anymore! I realised that doesnt matter anymore. Im not gunna kill this story just cause some things went wrong right😆

"All first standard students can now go to their classrooms" The principal's firm voice sounded as he dismissed the assembly and ordered everyone to go to class.

At this school , every morning there would be an assembly with the entire school where they would pray together, make important announcements and reminders for the kids and anything really associated with the school and its staff and students.

All first standards made their way to the class. Their teacher led them up and told them to all take their seats.

Asad came in before Zoya, who was way down in the line, chatting with her friends.

He sat in his seat, oblivious to the fact that Zoya had claimed the seat too.

"This is my seat!" Zoya poked Asad.

Asad turned around. "No, this is my seat, see my bag is here"

"But my bag was here before! Where is it?" Zoya's mouth formed an O' shape as she looked down and saw it on the ground.

"You threw my bag. Hmph"

"Did not"

"did to"

"Did not!"

"Did tooo!!!"

"BASSS!"

Both turned and saw their first standard teacher shooting them a menacing glare.

"What's going on here?"

"Maam, Asad took my seat!"

"Nahi Maam, this is my seat"

"Ya Allah! There is enough room here on this bench. You both will sit here"

"But Maam.."

"That's final!"

~And that's how Asad and Zoya ended up sitting next to each other for first standard.

Throughout the course of the day, childish little fights took place, what more would you expect.

It was now last period.

"Aap kuch chaiye?" Asad asked Zoya, as he realized she was staring at him, hesistant to speak.

"Vo..."

"Vo kya!"

"Mera pencil... it fell. It's under your foot"

"To kya?" Asad said indifferently.

"Aap!!!!.. hmph!" she grunted as she bent to pick up the pencil, not knowing that Asad was going to pick it up simultaneously to her.

"OWWW"

"Your head is like a rock!"

"Then what to say for yours Akdu?" Zoya replied rubbing her head.

"Matlab?"

"Kuch nahi!"

"Hm thought so, Patharwala!"

She pouted and huffed, crossing her arms.

"By the way, if you don't want your pencil, tell me, I'll drop it back on the ground" Asad teased.

She looked at him next to her, and saw him extending his hand with the pencil in it.

A small smile started to make its way on her face, as she went forward to take it. She didn't think he would actually pick it up for her. Just as she did, he pulled it away, making her grasp air.

Her mouth shaped in an o'

"Give it back!"

"Take it! No one's stopping you!" he grinned.

She rolled her eyes and launched forward to grab it fiercely, when he suddenly threw it into his other hand. It happened so quick, Zoya hadn't realized and grabbed his hand.

Gasps came from Humeira and Aadil who were sitting behind, causing Zoya and Asad to let go quickly. He handed her the pencil without a trick and both carried on writing as if nothing happened.

Shortly after, the school bell rang, and all kids were dismissed.

However, being teacher's children, meant having to wait until teachers finish socializing and talking about important stuff before leaving the school compound on an evening.

This is the time when Asad and Zoya seem different with each other, less edgy.

Both, being Dilshad and Zainab's kids were accustomed to being in school after dismissal waiting on their Ammis and this is what made them close, when they were alone at least.

Ayaan ran out to the field and went under the tree where Asad told him to wait for him and Zoya.

Ayaan, being in first year, finished fifteen minutes before them, and hence arrived earlier.

Asad and Zoya, after leaving classroom, began walking towards the tree.

"Zoyaaa!! Byeee yaaar! See you tomorrow!!!!" Humeira yelled, waving to Zoya madly, who turned and shot her a brilliant smile.

"Byebye Candy!" Zoya lovingly replied to her, calling her by her nickname she had christened Humeira with.

She turned back to resume walking and bumped into something hard.

"ASAD"she gritted her teeth.

"Can't you watch where you're going?" he snapped.

"Can't you watch where you're going? How am I supposed to know you were waiting on me?"

"Oh no. Don't think I wanted to wait on you. But if I left you here, and by chance either of our Ammis saw you here by yourself and that you weren't with me, they would've cracked me for not walking with you. Toh iss liye."

"Oh .. like that! Then sorry to bother you. Hmph."

"Sucks to be me!"

"Aap sach mein akdu hai!"

"Aap sach mein pagal hai! Ab chale, Pagli?"

"Hmph" she started walking fast, over taking Asad.

"Arrey! Now you want to walk fast! All the time you were slowing down talking to that Candycane."

"It's Candy" she said as he caught up to her.

"Right, cause that makes a big difference!"

"It's a sweet loving nickname, you wouldn't understand Akdu"

"Hmm so you're trying to say by calling me Akdu, you've given me a sweet loving nickname too?"

"huh you wish!"

"Never!!"

"Acha jaldi karo. Your baby brother is probably crying waiting on us. uff"

To this Asad laughed and they both hurried to the school's field, located right in the area where the teachers usually parked, to meet Ayaan.

"Bhaijaan!!!!" a small ruffled hair cutie squealed as he ran into Asad's arms.

"Get off of me!" Asad grimaced.

To this Ayaan hugged him tighter and jumped on him, causing him to fall back.

"Bhaijaan, drop this too cool' attitude and hug me like you know you want to!"

Zoya laughed.

"Exactly. Ayaan, your bhaijaan just has this lame attitude. Chi!"

Asad laughed and hugged Ayaan tightly, who was lying on top of him.

Ayaan was very tiny, very skinny, with lots of hair. Lots of it. Ruffled and never combed. No matter how many times Dilshad would comb and fix his hair, the little devil would mess it up.

"How was your day Biscuit"

"HAAA" Zoya clutched her belly laughing.

"Biscuit? And you're making fun of when I call Humeira, Candy?"

"Zoya, did you say Humeira?" Ayaan's face brightened up, even more.

"Haan mera best friend!"

"I know! Bhaijaan told me. She's very pretty na?"

"Akdu told you! And yes very pretty, just like me" she giggled.

"Don't fool yourself. You and pretty? Oh please. And Ayaan!" he reprimanded his little brother.

"Allah miyan! What wrong with you? And why you scolding Biscuit?"

"He saw Humeira once or twice, and I think he, ek chota sa first year boy, has the hots for her"

Zoya's loud scandalously laughter took over while Ayaan looked down blushing.

"Nahi Zoya bass..."

"Now it's confirmed. You're crazy just like your bhaijaan. Although I prefer you!" she winked at Ayaan.

Ayaan laughed and Asad looked at him sternly.

"Anyways Ayaan, how was your first day here?" Asad asked again, clearing hi throat and changing the topic.

Three sat down, Zoya then Ayaan in the middle , then Asad.

"It was awesome! I made new friends. Oh my god Bhai, there's this really fat girl in class sitting next to me and she's super annoying."

"Trust me, I know exactly how you feel"

"Are you trying to say I'm fat?" Zoya snapped.

"Maine kab kaha? But I guess since you're saying it yourself, I'm glad you know you're annoying!..Motiii" he said before getting up and running, knowing Zoya was going to run after him.

A game of tag ensued, Zoya trying to catch Asad, while Ayaan looked on, not knowing who to vouch for. He just stood laughing and looking out for both of them.

"Zoya he's coming that way!!!" he screamed.

"Ayaan!" Asad angrily yelled at him for selling him out.

It ended up where Ayaan was in the middle, Zoya in front of him, and Asad behind, both trying to catch each other and run away at the same time.

This was exactly how Dilshad and Zainab found them when they came outside. They looked at each other and smiled.

It was time to go home.

"Zoya!"

"Asad! Ayaan"

"Chalo, hometime!"

"Yaayyy" Ayaan cried as he ran and jumped into his Ammi's arms

Dilshad kissed him and she lifted him up.

"How was your first day my baby?"

"Very good Ammi!" he replied.

"Zoya beta! You got so big over the summer break. So pretty" Dilshad said touching her face lightly.

Asad laughed as Dilshad said "pretty" and Zoya hit him a teasing look.

Both mothers asked their first standard kids about their day.

"Aur tum Zoya?" Dilshad asked.

"Very good Maam, bas ek sher ne mera seat..."

"Tumne kuch kaha?" Asad looked at her and cut her off.

"Nahi toh! I was just saying my day was very good" Zoya replied righteously to Asad.

"And you, Asad beta? How was your day?" Zainab asked touching his head.

"Good Maam, just that I'm sitting next to a parrot"

"Allah miyan! What's wrong with you Akdu!" she said and Asad laughed. Both ended up laughing, joined by the moms as well as little Ayaan, who didn't really get the joke, but laughed not to feel left out.

"By the way Asad beta, you can call me Phupi if you like. I'm not your teacher right, well not yet at least, and besides school is over now"

"You too, Zoya!" Dilshad added in, winking at Zainab... "Although Ammi would sound better" she muttered, loud enough for just Zainab to hear.

Zainab laugh heartily and then both moms left with their kids, homebound, after saying byes and see you tomorrow's.

"Bye Parrot" Asad said cheekily, even offering her a half of a smile.

"Bye Akdu aur Biscuit" she said with a smile, thought for some reason Asad could hear some sadness in her voice.
