I know everyone is going on about how selfish Ayaan is, but I don't think what he asked from Asad was him being selfish.
What is selfish is that both brothers are making choices on behalf of Zoya without even letting her decide what she wants to do with her life!

What Ayaan did was wrong, but I don't think it was selfish.
He is doing everything because he is scared his sister won't be able to get married otherwise, and would try to kill herself again. He isn't doing it for himself.

He doesn't love Zoya, he doesn't want this marriage, he is doing it for someone else. He is also sacrificing his love for his sisters life. I think people forget that he wants to marry Humeira.

Now if Asad was in Ayaan's place, would people hate him just as much as they hate Ayaan for asking for such a thing? What if Asad asked Ayaan to sacrifice his relationship with Humeira for the time being to save Najma's life, would people hate him?

My point here is that if we wanted to save the life of a loved one, we would probably do anything possible to save them, so I can understand the plight of the brothers to an extent.

My problem with this storyline is somewhat different to what other people are having.
I just find it simply disgusting that Gul can show that a woman has absolutely no value whatsoever, she is simply a object that is to be passed around for the sake of others. Zoya doesn't seem to have a choice. Asad is telling her to do this thing for his sister, at least Ayaan is asking. What does Gul think? A man can tell a woman to do anything and she must oblige even if her heart is not in it? And seriously I thought Zoya was a modern girl with intelligence, why doesn't she speak up?! Why doesn't Ayaan and his family find someone else for Nikhat? What is Gul trying to show? That you can only get married if you're fair! I'm an Asian, and I know that most Asians are slightly dark-skinned, but they still get married!

Maybe this storyline would be more digestible if I thought Zoya wanted to do this for Nikhat on her own accord, but that's not what is being shown. Yes Zoya usually tries to help others and maybe would in this situation, but that is not what is being shown. She is being cornered and coerced into it.🥱

I totally agree with you. I cannot fathom why the decision and the sacrifice is seen as Asad's to make. It is Zoya's call, And frankly she made a mistake and there is no reason to punish her thus for it

I think you're kind of missing the point. My main point was that since when did Asad have the right to make a decision on Zoya's behalf?

That's not him being selfless, since that's not him sacrificing himself, he is sacrificing Zoya's life without Zoya's permission!

Ayaan might have been wrong to ask for such a thing, but why was he asking Asad? It should be Zoya he was asking.

And I'll ask once again, how is Ayaan being selfish?
Yes the storyline sucks, but Ayaan isn't doing this for himself, he is only concerned about his sisters life. He might be being selfish, but not towards Asad, but Zoya.

NOT ONLY AYAAN ..ASAD IS ALSO SELFISH...FOR AYAAN ZOYA IS JUST A FRND AND HIS TO-BE- SISTER IN LAW...BUT FOR ASAD SHE IS HIS LOVE , LIFE...SO HERE ASAD IS MORE SELFISH...FOR HIS SISTER HE IS SACRIFICING HIS LOVE...OK THAT IS ADMITTED...BUT WHAT ABT ZOYA...SHE IS LOSING HER LIFE HERE..NO ONE IS THINKING ABT HER...SHE IS AN ORPHAN TOO...SHE HAS NO ONE TO CONSOLE HER...THE ONLY ONE SHE LOVED AND TRUSTED IS DUMBING HER TO A HELL...

I agree, I seriously hate this. I don't hate what Ayaan asked as much as I hate the whole situation and what Asad is going to do. How can someone force you into staying somewhere against your will? Why isn't she standing up for herself?

Zoyas meant to be a modern woman and shes got tons of options; she could call the police, run away or call aapi and jeeju and get them to come and get her but no I've got a feeling shes just going to roll over and take it and accept everything ASADS decided for her. Its honestly disgraceful and so frustrating.
