Ayaan had caught up with his mum to find out what had happened but from what she had told him he seemed more worried than happy, he didn't know what conversation had taken place between them but was going to make sure he found out, especially if it upset Zoya so much that she started crying.

The next few days went pretty well, a lot calmer than the days the last week had seen. The only thing that stirred anything was the countless news reports that covered what had happened in Delhi and in Goa, Zoya managed to block out most of it and had made a start on her dissertation again. She spoke to Ayaan over the phone who offered to pick her up on his way to work.

'I believe this belongs to you...thank you' she said as she gave him back his shirt 'Zoya, what happened at my place...the other day, Ammi told me a little but I want to know from you'. Ayaan saw Zoya go quiet, her expression dropped a little. Taking her hand into his 'am I not your brother, do I not have a right to know what has happened in my sister's life' Zoya looked up at him and nodded 'you do Ayaan, you have every right, we may not be blood related but you are my brother and will always be' Zoya went over what had happened at his house from the moment she walked in to the minute Asad dropped her off.

Ayaan's heart went out to his sister, she really had been through so much in life, but in all this he saw and focused on one thing and that was that Asad had reached out to her, he held her, he did for her what he had never down in all his childhood and adult life, he shed a tear. Now more than ever Ayaan believed that these two are meant to be, it was no coincidence that Asad had saved Zoya that day, it was Allah's way of getting them to meet and come together. If this most unconventional alliance was going to bring two people together who for the first time let down their guards then it was an alliance worth fighting for.

On Wednesday Mr Roy had asked for an emergency meeting and debriefing session to take place. Zoya made her way to the conference room with Ana. She hadn't seen Asad yet but she could feel his presence, so much so that her whole body broke put in goose bumps. Zoya walked in the conference room and met Ayaan, who hugged his sister dearly 'how are you?' he asked tapping the tip of her nose 'I am ok, once we finish from here you can take down my statement...I am ok now' Ayaan had given Zoya some time to recuperate from what had happened before he spoke to her, just to make sure she was ok and didn't feel under pressure.

'Zoya...babe' Haroon's loud voice pierced Zoya's ear 'Ya Allah' she whispered before she turned towards him forcing herself to smile. She saw Haroon walk towards her with his arms open wide, she looked at him and started shaking her head 'don't you dare' she whispered to herself knowing too well he was going to hug her. Zoya closed her eyes as she cringed waiting for him to come to her but he never did. She opened her eyes and saw Haroon hugging Asad 'Zoya...babe you been building up some muscle?' he said still not aware of who he was holding. It was Zoya's and Ayaan's laugh that made him open his eyes and then realise who he had his arms around 'shit...Asad...my man how are you?' he said trying to cover his little moment of embarrassment 'all the better now that I got my morning hug...if you're done you can take your seat' Haroon rushed passed Asad and sat on the furthest seat he could find.

Zoya looked at Asad and gave him a faint smile 'umm Bhaijaan...why don't you sit here with Zoya, I just need to go and get a few bits and pieces' Ayaan quickly said. Asad took a step closer to Zoya and then turned to pull out a chair for her 'thank you' she simply said before she sat down next to him. Asad sat fiddling with his pen and Zoya with her fingers both waiting for the other to say something, they could see each other stealing quick looks from the corner of their eyes. Now even if they did want to say something they couldn't as Mr Roy had just walked in to address the teams.

The meeting went on for the longest time; everyone sighed in relief once Mr Roy had finished addressing everyone and called the meeting to a close. As everyone stood up to leave Arjun and Haroon came to stand by where Asad, Zoya and Ayaan were standing 'Zoya, we are out on the field today, would you like to join us, you can join Haroon' Asad said Zoya looked at him then at Haroon who was smiling a little too much. Before Zoya could respond in any shape or form Asad replied for her 'no...' Zoya looked at him wondering why he just said no. Asad looked at her questioning eyes and then cleared his throat 'I mean I...we, me and Ayaan need Zoya this morning to go over her statement, it will take time' sure no problem...may be next time Zoya' Arjun said and walked off.

Before Zoya could say anything to him Asad walked out of the conference room towards his room 'since when does he make decisions for me' Zoya said looking at Ayaan 'since he doesn't want Mr Haroon Darr anywhere near you' Ayaan said grinning mischievously. Zoya who was not understanding what Ayaan was doing looked at him confused 'and why would that be...I am in his team...I know he is a little eccentric but nothing I can't handle' Ayaan put his arm around Zoya 'my dear dear sister...you may be able to handle him...but my dear Bhaijaan wont' 'why?' Why...isn't it obvious Zoya...' Zoya pushed his arm back off her shoulder 'obviously not Ayaan...what is going on?' Ayaan rolled his eyes, the girl definitely was not going to pick up on any subtle hints 'nothing...be ready in fifteen minutes, I'll come and get you' he said walking off leaving her dumbfounded 'What the hell is wrong with the people in here?' she said to herself and went back to her desk.

Back in their office Ayaan thought he would try his luck with Asad 'Bhaijaan, I could have spoken to Zoya in the afternoon, I am sure she would have liked being out on the field with Haroon, you should have let her go'. Asad sat up on his chair 'that fool doesn't know how to look after himself how would he be able to keep an eye on Zoya...and besides I am not her minder if she really wants to go she can' Ayaan knew that the last statement came out in vain 'really...great I'll go and tell her she can go' Asad mentally slapped himself 'no...I mean no I need her here...what I mean is that I want my report finished for Mr Roy, and I can't do that without Zoya's statement...if she really wants to go out I can take her later' Ayaan patted himself on the back 'bingo'.
