i dont know what they document they signed but you only sign the nikah nama after saying qubool hai three times, i.e. after the nikah is performed. first they ask from the bride and she signs her and then they ask the groom and then he signs it and after it they make dua. simple. this is how nikah is done and you dont even need a maulvi for that. you just need a wakil (bride's guardian) and two witnesses from groom's side. this is how a nikah is done. although the nikah nama (document) is filled out first with bride and groom's details (i.e. their full names and their father;s name, their age, if any conditions, if any, they want to put, the amount of mehr, name of the wakil and the witnesses) but they all (bride, groom, wakil, and the witnesses) sign the document at the time if the nikah.

you r welcome :). i dont know why they did sign the document and what was it about, but they have been showing so many things which are not part of a muslim marriage/ wedding ceremony (in specific) and in muslim culture (in general), but i think its a soap and they just try to prolong and spice up the things for the sake of viewership and also for the sake of "twists and turns".

Very true, and I thin this where maulvi will get all the details of bride and groom and based on it he can ask bride and groom if they qubool hai or not, but here in Zoyan, how he gonna perform this as he don't have any of the details of them, and if misunderstood them for someone else, then also the wedding will not be valid.😕 finding every point to justify that zoyan not gonna marry atleast at the community wedding.

They didn't show what these papers were for, but there should hv some significance thats why they showed that scene. But as per my knowledge no signatures are required before marriage. Marriage papers are signed on Nikah day itself.
