With that said I don't think KSG nor SJ are big enough stars to override a good script. So my comparing them with BW stars is a bit farfetched.

But hey if the number posts I saw about KSG doing better than Slaman was anything to go by, then to some people these actors mean much more than they do to me 😆

To each their own. Who am I to judge?

Bold part, yupp that's totally it haha. People watch QH for their own personal reasons, so yes to each his own!

Oh and I also believe that no actor is larger than their script. A good actor with a bad script still makes for a bad show. I could give an example... but I won't :p

Oh actors can be bigger than a script.

Or the shitty movies in BW wouldn't be a hit. 😆 And a movie like Lootera would have made it. Alas. 😆

It's back to classes vs masses again.

The story, script and content matter at the end of the day. (In most cases hopefully).

And then there are the 100cr club, gloss and floss, many times not even that.

Whatever the case creative product like a tv show or a movie at the end of the day is team effort, whether anyone acknowledges it or not.

That's all there is to it, some of them will acknowledge it and some won't. But that doesn't take away from them.

Ohh I was kind of talking specifically about hindi shows, daily soaps to be more exact haha. It's the trend now anyway, shows with good scripts are doing well, regardless of whether or not the lead is popular.

There was that show right, Hongey Judaa Na Hum. Both leads were pretty popular, but the TRPs were still so sucky that it had to shut down within 6 months. On the other hand, when DABH first started, the leads were relatively unknown. Yet it's doing amazingly well now.

So yeah, content over actors, at least in the television industry! Which I do believe is the reason for QH's success as well. The whole package deal, not just KSG's popularity. Although yes it is still a contributing factor.

I don't know whether I have observed right or not...but i feel here in India..putting one individual on a pedestal for a movie or a serial or a cricket match for that matter..exists more...

As in we have heard so many times ki this person got the other actor's role trimmed...actors shy away from multi-starrers and stuff...I have notice this less in hollywood at least..I mean greatest of the great Oscar winners took background by giving the spotlight to three new kids in HP...they all had small but well defined roles and no one seemed to be unhappy about it...

Similarly, Ledger took centerstage in the Dark Knight with stalwarts like Bale, Gary Oldman, Sir Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman...it was great to see such an ensemble cast...

And plus the technical awards also mean a bigger deal there...yahan pe I have noticed in my own home...technical awards are skipped and only popular awards are seen...

In fact, our cricketers are the only one in the world who are treated like demi-Gods...for other countries ka cricketers, its like a normal job...thanks to IPL though, they also now enjoy that star status...apne cricketers jitni limelight nobody else gets...IMO

Well to an extent I agree. QH isn't a hit because of just KSG but rather the 4lions brand name as a whole.

Indian soaps don't really have content worth mentioning, like even KSG said somethings are done to death and it's done again and again because it's safe.

I wouldn't say QH is unique in it's plot or ingenious story, but I will acknowledge that Gul has a spark of making her audience feel very strongly for her characters. If this forum is anything to go by, everyday we have posts fiercely defending Asad/Zoya like their life depends on it, it's enough proof.
