Didn't she leave him a message saying just that though?
But regardless - his lack of explanation about his OWN decisions that impact everyone else is not synonymous to her lack of explanation about HIS decisions that impact everyone else.
While I think the slap is a harsh step toward him, for teh first time his naivete is getting to me. He could have, possibly should have, halted his nikah to Zoya, yes. But to announce his marriage to Tanu is ... a bit extreme.
Now, you could argue he's functioning on lack of sleep, emotions running haywire - deep sorrow and regret one minute, elation at all his dreams coming true another, realizing it's within grasp but impossible to have another minute - blows our minds, imagine his.
Yet, isn't he the more calmer one of the two (AsYa)? Isn't he the one who stops, thinks, and then acts? Isn't she the impulsive one? So he ought to discuss this with his family - possibly not Zoya, I'll give him that.
And maybe, post discussion they all would have come to the same conclusion - Asad should marry Tannu. But Asad's character would have discussed and atleast tried to do right by Zoya.
As for marrying Tanveer - he's shown to be a character of honor. And that would be the honorable thing to do.
But - time and again, he keeps falling because he's just ... ah gosh darn it, I'll just say it - Stupid.
Why was he coming alone to the Nikah? Why didnt' he think something fishy was going on with Tannu making subtle moves on him in the car? Why did he not ever, once, think that maybe Tannu has feelings for him? Why did he not, once, try to believe what ZOya was saying. I said 'tried to believe', not believe. I realize he has a history with Tannu, one built on trust and familiarity, and family love. Zoya was the new kid on the block. But he loves Zoya, and yet there's no trust? He loves her and yet there's no respect?
So ... yes, an admonition, a dressing down, a good, honest to goodness yelling and putting him in his place and calling him stupid, stupid, stupid, is in order.
I hope Zoya does do it. I hope he doesn't just show up with tears in his eyes, that gorgeous face with wobbly lips and says 'I love you Zoya, please forgive me' and she come running to him and embraces him and it's all hunky dory.
I hope she says ' Mr. Khan, I love you too, but you don't deserve it.' I loved the Ajmer part where she moves on. I want her to tell him she loves him, but she didn't deserve this. That if he really loved her, while he couldn't prevent Tanveer's machinations, he could've atleast TRIED to prevent the situation. He sure as heck could have showed his trust in Zoya.
But we know that won't happen. He's gonna cry, we're all gonna swoon, including Zoya, and it'll be one big happy family. Till someone else strikes again.
