Qubool Hai attracted me the instant I saw the promo's. I have always been fascinated by the Muslim culture and I finally found a show on Indian television which would explore the culture and address important issues surrounding it. Just for your information, I did had not watched any show of any actors in QH or the previous shows of this PH prior to Qubool Hai.
Within the first week of the show I was intrigued at the concept, the story, the uniqueness, the breath of fresh air, and most importantly the characters. Each and every scene and character was justified and well crafted. It all made sense. It was logical.
Qubool Hai instantly became a favorite! I use to watch several shows along with QH in the past and over time I stopped watching all of the other shows because Qubool Hai raised the bar. I could not take the lack of logic shown in other shows and further.
Then came the development of AsYa's story which in my opinion was one of the most beautiful and unique stories ever to be shown on Indian television.
However, soon after came the entry of Tanveer. Initially it was okay, she was introduced primarily for character growth in Asad. It made sense for Asad to let go of his judgmental attitude through the character of Tanveer. But as time progressed this character became worse and worse to a point where now I switch the channel when her scene comes on. The crimes she has committed, her constant victory over evil, and most important the butchering of every other character and story has taken away from the charm of Qubool Hai. The lack of logic in the recent episodes has made it all the more unbearable. The brutalities and actions shown on television through this character is unnecessary and is setting a horrible example.
Well sketched characters have been ruined. For example, the lion Asad Ahmed Khan has been minimized to Tannu's Jammy which is unacceptable and disheartening. Pure souls like Zoya and Dilshad who have gone through so much are not being given their well deserved happiness-due to one character who quite frankly is illogical and beyond bearable.
I know vamps are necessary and I enjoy watching Raziya as the vamp. However, Tanveer's character is horrible and cringe-worthy.
Television is a medium through which we should send a positive message to society and you have the power to do so. Unfortunately, this power has not been used and in fact the wrong messages are being sent by the constant victory of evil.
As an ardent fan of the show, it is a request to give the Tanveer track an end and move on with the story.
Finally, I personally watch the show for the story it HAD, the logic it HAD, and the wonderfully crafted characters. My loyalty to the story and the characters keeps me watching but I hate to say it if evil continues to win and the characters and story continue to be butchered, I will stop putting myself through the torture of watching Tanveer take over my screen.
One last thing I want to mention is that when I started watching QH i was impressed at how the PH tried to listen to the fans and hence has platforms such as Forum 32. I would really like to see our requests and appeals not go to vain in this matter.
