I know vamps and negative characters up the ante on a show, but to attribute high TRP's to only vamps and KSG's abs is being a bit limited!
I totally agree that KSG's hotness pulls the chicks! Just like some of the previous 4 Lions Hero's have done too! But to boil it all down to the Hero's looks would be being too superficial! It takes a lot more to make a show reach TRP heights!
I remember the last villain of 4 Lions was seriously hyped too. He was good but even he outstayed his welcome! This is courtesy of 4 Lions inability to determine when people are getting tired of the antagonist ruining the lives of the protagonists of the show!
I still maintain I prefer the 1st Tanveer Nisha Nagpal. But Amarpali is doing an adequate job too. It is just that Nisha had a certain innocence in her looks that makes the evilness of Tanveer even more intense. She is more believable, coz looking at her no one would think she is capable of what Tanveer is capable of! But that is what makes it cool!
I think Tanveer's motivation has not been made clear! Yes she wants to marry Asad, coz he is an eligible bachelor. She is pregnant and Razia insulted her! So marrying Asad is her way to resolve a few issues! But what made her the way she is? What is her story? The same weakness I saw in the previous 4 Lions celebrated villain! We knew like Tannu he was greedy for money and the good life? But beyond that, what made him such an asshole?? We all wanted to know a bit more about what motivated him! His back story. We never got a good enough insight. I wonder if it will be the same with Tanveer? At least Razia killed out of jealousy. (Husbands ex). Then she resorted to whatever she has to do to hide her tracks. But we don't know what motivates Tanveer to be a psycho, which makes her harder to connect with!
So I don't agree with Amarpali's statement made that Tanveer is the best negative character around. A good villain needs a backstory, and a clear motivation we can all relate to! Tanveer has neither!
P.S: I also think it was no good that Amarpali did not acknowledge Surbhi and the rest of the female cast of the show, who I think are good for TRP as well. People relate to Zoya, Dilshaad, Najma and also Nikhat, Nuzat and Humeira. I am sure some relate to Shireen and Badi bi as well.
