The reason is rather simple...i.e. the Writers.

CVs and/or writers for most of the Soaps are the same - the same group of 6-8 writers on a rotation basis.

Their poor brain cells have been trained to think in the Ekta Kapoor style of saas-buhoo shows for so long that they cannot break that mold.

This is not the first time that I have observed similar stories and tracks in many shows.


If one show has a runaway or kidnap track, the same follows in many other shows.
Ditto for weddings, engagements, break-ups, etc.
I think it saves times in building sets up.

Anywho, same writers, writing same stories, so nothing new will be seen.
Same ol' tortures and schemes shown in detail.🤢

I stopped watching PR after the hero got married to the self absorbed girl. Arjun had a bad attitude etc, but underwent a complete transformation after falling in love with Purvi. They eventually go engaged and planned to marry, but he ended up getting married to Ovi instead. It was heartbreaking. I stopped watching then cos I don't do heartbreaks well at all. Never watched it again.
