Love in its definition by dictionary is not enough. Not always. Attachment. Tenderness.Passion.Affection.Compassion. It brings in all the tenderness of the human heart All that is lovely, heart warming , beautiful and a promise of a fairytale.
Fairytale.They tell you fairytales but they never tell you how hard all the princesses fought for the men they loved. Cinderella rebelled rules. Jasmine went against her father for Aladin. Pocahontas fell for the man she shouldn't have loved. Ariel gave up her water world to be with the man she loved. Aurora bore a sleep of hundred years and a needle prick to await true love. Rapunzel sacrificed the minimal she had to be with the boy she loved. No. I am not glorifying fairytales. Am just saying the hidden message and meaning that the loved fairytales have carried.Sometimes, love demands its price and a test of fire is must. Sometimes, it demands an insane courage from you which is ridiculously unbelievable to outsiders. Sometimes, it promises you your beloved only if you fight to the finish for him/her.
Zoe is in the same position. I don't think she ever imagined that she would be the Zoe that she is today. Truly in love with a man who is everything against her ideal picture. Stalked , hounded and scared by a woman who will not even think twice before ending Zoe's life. But Zoe is hanging on. Yes, she is scared on the inside. She is human. She backs off. She gets anxious. Ideally, she should be running for her life. Yet, she is standing in the face of the storm - only because every fear, every anxiety, even her own life is minuscule, inferior and too small compared to her love for Asad and what he stands for in her life. If Asad's love is intense and passionate, Zoe's love is selfless and powerful. And that is from where her courage to go through it all springs. A courage, a conviction that makes even Tanveer shiver on the inside.
Zoe knows that her life is in danger and how dangerous BCA can be in her pathological psychosis - and she knows that she is all alone - she has no support or protection whatsoever against BCA. But Zoe's love for Asad makes her stand like a giant. She is not the one to cry in corners and rue how the vamp is trying to destroy her life - she is the kind that both nature and destiny love. The brave one. The one who fights for the one she loves , no matter what the circumstances and who is pitted against her.
Today, what kept Zoe going in front of Imaam saahab was Zoe's marked-in-stone love for Asad that gave her the determination to sit through the blackouts and not let Asad down. Its Zoe's absolute refusal to give up Asad that generates that defiance in Zoe with which she tells BCA to basically go to hell even as the vixen threatens to gouge her eye. Its Zoe's pride and territorial right in and on Asad with which she slips her arm into Asad's and walks out with him.
I remember how many fans here used to wonder if Zoe's love can match Asad's intensity. Does she love him as much as he loves her? I think the BCA threat has been an answer to that for once and all. The only reason you would put up with a psychotic vixen on the loose who is constantly trying to end your life - would be that you are in love with a man to the point of no return. Insane, still. Right? Abb kisi ne aisa ishq kiyaa ho, toh wo samajh hi jaayega - Love finds the ones who are just as insane as love is.
Apart from that, we are so caught up in bashing and thrashing BCA, that we miss out on so many important changes in AsYa's relationship. Today, when it seemed like Zoe will not be able to say a single Kalma, Asad did not feel let down or embarrassed about it. He was all set to defend his NY import darling. Its another change for a fundamentalist like him - accepting Zoe as she is. That Zoe made him proud by reciting them is another thing.
If Zoe fights for her love, then, thanks to BCA's display-mirror-act yesterday, she also feels the love she has for Asad. Her blushing monologue in her room where she faces the fact that she loves Asad, her hope and desire that Asad should tell her that he loves her, speak of a dream life that she has woven for herself and Asad, even if villains and vamps threaten to ruin it.
I , for , one, feel that Zoe's love for Asad, in every aspect is COMPLETE. You may feel that Zoe should just pack her bags and walk out. Maybe she should. But that is what you and i think - coz we are the 'sane' ones. Zoe is not. Asad is not either. The insane ones flock and lock together.
