Like most of you, even I was disappointed by the MS with a reaction of 'much ado about nothing.' Now that I have had time to cool off and think about the episode in the context of the whole serial, I will say that most of us were disappointed because we had very high expectations from the MS. We all fell for the marketing gimmick, the SBS stories, the BTS videos, articles and our own perceptions of what we might see on the MS.
Why did we all get disappointed?
1. We all expected Asad to confess and he didn't. TB even released an article hours before the episode aired stating this fact. IF articles are in general more reliable but I guess they fell for the buzz too. So, we are disappointed that he didn't confess, but are we surprised? Not really. Most of us knew there would be some hurdle and he wouldn't be able to confess. Let's give Asad some brownie points for trying. He rehearsed a full confession speech, which BTW was super adorable. It's just that Zoya's 'kaatilana nigaahen' rendered him wordless when she stood in front of him. Then he tried to write a note but that fell in wrong hands and then he tried to confess verbally right before the dance, but Zoya was in no mood to listen. Finally, he did say his innermost desires through the song but Zoya probably ignored the lyrics as she felt they were still dramatizing the whole event.
2. Zoya disappointed us all too. Why was she confiding in Tanveer? Lately, she has shown some reservation towards Tanveer but today, they were BFFs once again. A little inconsistency in the character here or Zoya's old habit of forgiving everyone and moving on? Later, she never gave Asad a chance to speak as she was too wrapped up in her own negative line of thinking. She is quite stressed right now, especially because she feels guilty about keeping Aapi and Dilshaad in the dark. When stressed, most of don't think logically and listen even less. We tend to assume things based on our own perceptions. Zoya has criticized Asad in the past about being too judgmental and not giving another person a chance to speak. Then, why didn't she listen to what Asad was trying to say? Instead, she just walked out in a huff. Zoya darling, remember you hated when Asad did that to you?
3. We all thought Tanveer would get busted today because of the SBS story. Are we surprised she didn't get busted? Not really. We all have been speculating that Tanveer won't get busted until AsYa get married. Wo unka nikaah karvaane hi tho aayi hai!!! Yes, we all hate her but we have to bear her till AsYa get married. As I have said before, her intentions are bad but her actions usually bring AsYa closer. Today, Asad gave a public hug to Zoya all because of Tanveer! What a change in Asad's character. Do you think he would have done that in the past? Also, the hug puts a stamp on his relationship with Zoya. Aapi, Ayaan or anyone else will have no doubts about Asad's feelings towards Zoya.
4. Ayaan: We were disappointed because we thought Ayaan might help AsYa get closer. Ayaan was there for bhaijaan today but now that he has seen AsYa together, he will always be there for his bhaijaan and bhabhi.
What's coming tomorrow?
The hospital scene with Tanveer. We were all expecting to see Zoya in the hospital but lo and behold, the CVs duped us and replaced her with Tanveer. Not to worry. Tanveer is playing with fire and guess what- she burnt both her arms while playing with fire. Let's take it as a positive. Yes, Asad will shower more TLC towards his friend but we all need to trust Asad's character here. He has no romantic feelings towards Tanveer. She is almost like a sister or another family member. I agree that he should be sensitive towards Zoya's feelings of jealousy but Asad takes time to learn. He will never cross the limit. Holding hands has always been initiated by Tanveer. When he sees his friend in so much distress, he has a hard time pulling back, but trust me, he doesn't enjoy it or seek that kind of contact. Of course, if he was more astute, he would start doubting why his friend is always so touchy-feely with him? But, he can be a little slow in that department. Even with Zoya, he is used to be quite rough in the beginning as he didn't know how to express his attraction towards Zoya. Now, he has learnt that manhandling Zoya just hurts her. Similarly, he will gradually figure out Tanveer. Let's give him time. He is not being unfaithful to Zoya- just an insensitive man.
Let's be patient and trust the Cvs...if they give us two great episodes, they usually follow it with 1-2 average ones. They did say that the road to the nikaah shall be quite rocky. We, the audience just need to bear these thorns for some time but in the end, truth and true love shall prevail.
We were all worried about Zoyaan track- the probability of that has decreased a lot, so Asveer track shall also fizzle out...
