Hola, people!

A while ago I had written about an imaginary conversation among Qubool Hain dialogue and story writers (https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/qubool-hai/3535677/qubool-hain-writers-lounge).

What is the current mood among dialogue writers? Let's peep in:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Asad-writer: Dialogue writer for Asad

Zoya-writer#1 & Zoya-writer#2 - two dialogue writers who write for Zoya. Zoya bahot bolti hain, is liye two.

Jake-of-all writer: Writes dialogues for Nikhat, Nuzat, Ayaan, Humeira, Razia, Badi bee, Tanveer...phew

Background music guy: Gives background music for the show. Often hangs around in writers' lounge.

-------------------------------------------------------------
A group of people are gathered around a large screen TV in the lounge. Asad-writer is busy scribbling on his notepad. Zoya-writer#1 & Zoya-writer#2 enter the lounge, take a seat on the sofa next to where Asad-writer is sitting, glare at him and then get busy in their discussion.

Asad-writer to Zoya-writers: What? What did I do?
Zoya-writer#1: Why were you so harsh to Zoya?
Asad-writer: I was harsh??
Zoya-writer#2: She means that why you wrote such harsh dialogues for Asad. That too when such a happy occasion was going on. How can Asad just flip?
Asad-writer: How is that my fault? I write dialogues as per the scene's requirement. Go and tell story writers (looks at people gathered around TV). Not thinking when speaking is an Asad characteristic especially when it comes to Zoya. Again, not my fault. That's how the character has been written.
Aur, ye Dhoni ne mara chauka. People near TV cheer.
Zoya-writer#1: Hmph...
Zoya-writer#2: Why aren't you there? (TV ki aur ishara karte hue) What kind of Indian male doesn't watch IPL?
Asad-writer (with his smirk): A hardworking Indian.
Zoya-writer#2: What are you scribbling? (Takes notepad from his hands)
All the scenarios when Asad can blame Zoya...
- His construction site workers go on strike --- May be Zoya gave them this idea
- Cement supplier stops supplying material ---- I am sure Zoya bragged before him that I can pay him a lot more.
- Lead architect resigns --- Was Zoya seen in office?
- Najma's paper was very tough, she came home almost in tears --- May be, Zoya challenged the paper setter to set the toughest paper possible
- Petrol prices have gone up, again --- kya pata, Zoya ne kahi oil well main aag laga di ho --- just for fun and great amount of crude oil has gone waste and prices have gone up.
- Tanveer's factory burned -- who knows, Zoya may be behind it, too
Zoya-writer#2 (her eyes are like saucers): What is all this?
Asad-writer: I am trying to think all possible scenarios, when Asad can blame Zoya and I am writing necessary dialogues for the situation. See, these writers take a U-turn at last minute. This week with wedding ceremonies and a mellowed down Asad who has started understating Zoya, I had thought that I would be required to write beautiful dialogues for him. He may not say them, but will at least think them in his head. I was reading Ghalib and Khalil Gibran for inspiration (points to a pile of book on table). And, instead, they suddenly asked me to write dialogues where Asad is going ballistic on Zoya. You don't know how difficult it was to switch my mood and write those dialogues. I wonder how any one can do it. How can Asad do it? And, I do get Asad most of the times, but this time he is beyond me. So, I have decided to be prepared for any situation.
Zoya-writer#1 (who has also finished reading his list): But, none of these make sense. Asad has to go nuts to blame Zoya for all these things.
Asad-writer: Does chicken blood make sense to you? (Looks at people near TV)
What a catch! What a catch! There comes an end to a fine inning. Collective sighs from people around TV.
Zoya-writer#1 & 2 both nod and glare at people around TV.
Just then the background music guy joins them with a coffee mug in his hands.
Background music guy: Hello, dukhi aatmas. Enjoying writing dialogues for current track?
None of them bother to answer him.
Background music guy: Okay, I get the point. Same story everywhere. I worked days and nights compiling music for the wedding track, selected choicest romantic songs, and inki sui billo rani and meow pe aatki hui hain. (Glares at people around TV)
Background music guy: See him (points at Jake-of-all writer). He is big friends with them these days.
Zoya-writer#1: Why wouldn't he be? His wildest dream has come true. He is getting to write 70-80% dialogues per episode by writing for Razia, Badi bee and Billo rani.
Asad-writer: Guys, we should give the story writers some break. Rishabh leaving suddenly left them in a lurch.
Zoya-writer#2 sighing: Who knew Ayaan was such an important character?
And, my dear friends, that is the fastest century in IPL. Gaylel-storm at work again. Very loud cheers and claps from people around TV.
Zoya-writer#1: Or, they are too busy watching IPL to write proper screen play. (who is in no mood of sparing the writers)
Zoya-writer#1: By the way, I am going to file a complaint in PETA for ill-treatment of the chicken.
Background music guy: Are you nuts? You can be fired.
Zoya-writer#1: Zoya ke dialogues likhti hoon. Zoya jitni hi smart hoon. Ye kaam aise karoongi ke kisiko kuchh pata nahi chalega. (Gives a mysterious smile)
Zoya-writer#1 (suddenly goes serious): Do you guys think this new Ayaan will really get more importance? Will we have to write dialogues for dreaded scenes?
Background music guy: You are getting attached to characters. That's not done. You have to be detached, clinical in your treatment of them. This is our job.
Zoya-writer#2: Are you not attached to the story that we have woven so far?
Background music guy (sighing): If I say so, I will be lying. After these many years in TV industry, I still haven't learnt my lesson.
Zoya-writer#1 to Asad-writer: And, what do you have to say on this matter?
Asad-writer (shrugging): It is just a job (who will not admit even in his dreams that he is attached to Asad and Zoya and their story).
All lost in their thoughts. Loud cheers in one corner. Some team won the game. Some team lost the game.
