There is importance of the good because bad exists, feels Amrapali Gupta!
It is notable that Amrapali had played a passive daughter-in-law in Teen Bahuraaniyan and now she has made a great switch playing the deadly vamp in Qubool Hai. Speaking of this change, she said, "I didn't want to do only positive roles on TV. There should be new benchmarks set in an actor's life. And when I came across the opportunity of playing a negative character in Qubool Hai, I took it up gladly. I am happy to have taken this decision. Play a positive character on TV and you will be seen crying forever on screen, which I didn't want to do. There are emotions other than crying which are definitely worth giving a try. It's not that playing a negative role which has villainy come full throttle is an easy alternative to remain on TV. To play a negative character with conviction requires a lot of guts and the capability to act".
When asked whether she was skeptical about taking up the negative role, she shared, "I didn't think twice before doing the role because I knew Gul Khan as I had worked with her earlier. There are two ways of looking at things. There is importance of the good because bad exists. No doubt, by playing a negative character you tend to draw the audience's wrath. I even get the news of fans of the show demanding omission of my character because it's too negative. So long as there is a negative character, there is interest in the story. It evokes lot of emotions - anger and to certain extent sympathy, among the audience. Even though I get hate mails, viewers' compliments motivate me".
Keep up the good work!
