True, he's his own enemy. It's almost like he doesn't want to be happy, it's like he just wants to stay in his own little safe bubble even if it means that he will never fully experience the joy of life. Which is sad because everyone has gone through pain in their life but that shouldn't mean you shut yourself off to happiness, living a life full of sadness is not a life worth living and Asad is setting himself up for the biggest misery of his life.
I couldn't agree more! It seriously feels like he's not even TRYING! And plus, happiness is a CHOICE not something you just GET. And like esha pointed out above, will he have this stand against every potential bride or only the one woman he's in love with?
