Here in the west, the guy proposes to the girl and if she says yes then he just puts the ring on her finger. He basically makes (claims) the girl his bride-to-be by putting a ring on her. Girl doesn't put the ring because its the guy "asking" the girl to marry him. On the wedding day, the couple puts wedding band on each other (the formal ring exchange). So the girl wears two things, the ring and the wedding band on the ring finger!!! Don't know how it's done in the east/muslim culture but that's just how we do here in the west.. So it's not a blooper by Qubool Hai team...Asad as traditional as he is, his proposal was definitely western or I should say modern Indian/filmy!!!! I guess with India westernizing so much..maybe it's trending in India now?

I agree. I also read somewhere in the forum, from a Muslim member, that engagements aren't as big a deal as the actual wedding, so it makes sense that it's one sided, cause the real big ceremony is the "Qubool hai" on the wedding day. And of course the exchange of rings? I still don't know if that happens in a Muslim wedding. Hope we could help a little :)

in muslim culture its not important to put rings on each another but just to show they are engaged they wear rings , in south Africa , we muslims just normally only make the girls wear the ring , its not important for the guys to wear an engagement ring
