We have been regular in our countdown post to take you through the journey of yester seasons of Grey's Anatomy and today it's time for the journey down the sixth season so that when you start watching the seventh season everything connects and you don't miss anything.

Season 6 Preview –

The season follows the story of surgical interns, residents and their competent mentors, as they experience the difficulties of the competitive careers they have chosen.

A major storyline of the season is the characters adapting to change, as their beloved co-worker Stevens departed following the breakdown of her marriage, O'Malley died in the season premiere—following his being dragged by a bus, and new cardiothoracic surgeon Teddy Altman is given employment at the hospital. Further storylines include Shepherd being promoted to chief of surgery, Seattle Grace Hospital merging with the neighbouring Mercy West, introducing several new doctors. And several physicians' lives being placed into danger—when a grieving deceased patient's husband embarks on a shooting spree at the hospital, seeking revenge for his wife's death.

The series ended its sixth season with 13.26 million viewers, ranking #17 in terms of ratings.

Sneak Peak into Season 7 Episode 1:

The Episode is named as – "With You I'm Born Again" and it will be the show's 127th episode overall. This season starts a little while after the season six finale, where the shooting in the hospital took place, and deals with all of the doctors trying to get their lives back to normal. A trauma counsellor, Dr. Perkins, tries to help the hospital staff in the recovery and to assess each doctor's readiness to return to work.

Cristina and Owen plan their wedding, while Meredith fails to get approved for surgery. Derek quickly returns to work with adrenaline but worries Meredith when he continuously speeds while driving.

The Highlights of the Season:

• Cristina seems to be the most affected by the shooting, quitting her job, because she doesn't believe she loves surgery anymore.

• Callie and Arizona's relationship takes a turn for the worse when Arizona goes to Africa after getting the Carder Madison Grant. With Callie in ruins after breaking up, she ends up sleeping with Mark only to find out she's pregnant.

• The season also focuses on Meredith and Derek starting an Alzheimer trial, with Meredith suspecting that Adele may have Alzheimer's. Richard doesn't believe Adele could have Alzheimer's only to eventually accept their offer and put her in the trial.

• Season Seven shows the show's first musical episode, after Callie and Arizona are in a car accident, and Callie and the baby's life are put in danger, and Mark and Arizona are forced to decide who to save if Callie were to die.
