Zoe hates the sight of Salwaar Kameez as soon as the 90 yards of clothes comes within 500 meters of Asad. CHECK.
Zoe would rather listen to Asad's jhaad ki jhankaar and emotional attyaachaar than Dilshaad's praise songs for that Bhookhi Chudail Aurat. CHECK.
Zoe can get a legal prohibition to stop Nirmaa from coming anywhere near the dining table. CHECK.
Zoe would prefer to choke on a whole sea of peach juice than even hear about the nightmare of Asad even thinking to marry Salwaar Kameez. CHECK.
Zoe can run meters away from even her dearest Phoophi to stop her eardrums from going through the torture of hearing how perfect that Zardozi is. CHECK.
Zoe's blood pressure hits the roofs everytime Asad goes 'Tannu' and you can see how she controls herself from slapping him across his face. CHECK.
Zoe can make it categorically clear that Asad toh bahot door ki baat hai, uskaa bas chale to Asad ki laayi hui kachaudiyaan bhi Bhookhi Chudail Aurat ke naseeb mein na ho. CHECK.
Phewww! How can Zoe still not get it that all these range of emotions and erratic behaviour that she is going through is her love for Asad. Zoe is a guileless , loving , compassionate woman who goes out of her way to make everyone feel wonderful and loved. But Tanveer makes her blood boil unconsciously. Zoe feels as though Tanveer has come to snatch away what is hers - the white mansion, the dining table, the rooms, the share of Dilshie's and Tamaatar's love for her, her right over them as a family member and above all , the most precious one - Asad.
Like Zoe voiced it today - I feel as though this girl has come sauntering in to give me an inferiority complex. Where does that thought come from, Zoe? You have loved yourself as you are and that too to the point where Asad is falling in love with you just as you are. Its not inferiority complex here - its insecurity , a fear forming in your hind brain and your heart that this yards of brocade might just snatch the life that is yours. With one snap of her evil fingers , she might take away Asad and the entire entourage from you.
Zoe is still unaware of her love for Asad mentally but her heart is hyperactive in that department. The very thought that Dilshie could mention a Nikaah between Asad and that Bhookhi Chudail Aurat made her choke and sent her running so that she had to no longer hear those nightmares. Stop and think for a while, Zoe. Why does it matter to you so much? Why can't Asad marry someone else?
When Asad asks Salwaar Kameez if she wants anything from the market , Zoe takes it on the pride of her heart and says she can get what she wants herself. And when Asad says 'ok,. her cute little face swells like a disappointed child. Why? Why should it matter that Asad asked you second? He was not rude or ridiculing - he was nice and gentlemanly and yet you took offence. And when he goes away, you backbite about him to the same woman you want to throw out of the house.
Later, when Asad comes back home and asks for Salwaar Kameez so that he can give her the kachaudees he got - Zoe doesn't allow him to go anywhere near those yards of zardozi. A plate of jam toasts with big smileys , a loving cheerful apologetic face that melts Asad like a spoon of chocolate mousse.Its a small childish gesture but it says a lot about how far Zoe is capable of fighting for Asad if she ever discovered that side of hers - You don't need any Zardozi to make breakfast for you when am here. And those kachaudees are going into my tummy and that BCA can starve for all i care.
Zoe has it in her to be fiercely possessive and if this is the state when she has no realization that she loves Asad , one can only imagine her suffering and agony when the emotion hits her straight from her heart and into her face.
Zoe is not the kind to hate , but when it comes to Tanveer, if you remove Zoe's overall kind and compassionate nature - you can see the hatred seed for BCA. Zoe is incapable of thinking negative about anyone but her feelings for Asad have made her dislike someone to a point where Zoe would throw a party if she didn't have to see BCA's face again. THAT is the depth and power of Zoe's feelings for Asad where she is disliking and feeling suffocated by a seemingly harmless pristine woman.
As for Asad, well, he is changing and he has been changing slowly and steadily ever since the infamous slap incident. First stage of that change was tolerance and adjustment , second stage was giving Zoe benefits of doubt and a free hand at how she wanted to be , third stage was connecting to her pain and trauma , the fourth and fifth stages are running parallel - of falling in love with her, of trying to fight it and yet feeling special and warm by that same feeling.
Maybe Asad is on the verge of giving up on his resolve , maybe he isn't. But Zoe lends him sensitivity , emotion and warmth. He stares at her when she is not looking. He smiles like a baby when she is onto her antics. I mean, you wouldn't expect Asad Ahmed Khan to smile and grin upon being called 'kam akal' but he did. His face seems like Zoe's male version when it lights up at the sight of those jam toasts with smileys that Zoe has made. Instead of cringing on what a messy eater Zoe is, he smiles and lends her a napkin to wipe her face.
The moments that we are seeing of Asad are those stolen moments when he is trying to cross that bridge unknowingly - accepting Zoe as she is and loving her as she is. And its such a lovely thing that Asad is capable of smiling , grinning , showing a lighter side and not being judgmental at all. A place where he is not traumatized with his 30 year old life, where he doesn't have to be everyone's backbone and clean up everyone's mess. A place where he can come back home, see a smiling Zoe and sit on the dining table with her.
Zoe's and Asad's life has been of extreme suffering and they both are dead in many ways if you look at them. And when i saw Asad smiling today , i felt that no matter how much we bash him for his cranky nature or wish him suffering for breaking Zoe's heart , we really wouldn't like to see him suffer. Similarly , we may keep arguing that why does Zoe go so desperate for Asad and doesn't hurt him back , the fact is that she is not even thinking in that direction. She came looking for her father and she met a man who became her center of existence. That is all this innocent girl knows.
The heart wants what it wants and no outsider can ever understand that just why two people simply belong together. Zoe will never be complete without Asad and Asad will never be happy without Zoe., That's all.
P.S- The precap didn't make me angry. It filled me with disgust and how. Innocent, smiling, happy Asad in the foreground - maybe because of Zoe's presence, In the background, stood Tanveer , planning to ruin Asad's life so that she can rise. Asad, her childhood friend who has taken care of her like his own , has trusted her like his own- how can anyone ever have the heart to backstab such a pure friendship? Yes, Asad deserves a lesson so that he can release himself from his rulebook - but somehow, looking at a naive Asad in the precap who is beginning to 'feel' the love he feels for Zoe, who can have a happy life ahead - i don't think its going to be a very pretty sight to see him and Zoe deal with the mess that BCA makes. Asad deserves a lesson but he doesn't deserve such a harsh betrayal.
