My granny & some bangali people in our surroundings tell my mom to order me to wear full covered cloths I guess the burkha type. In newyork few Arabic & bangali pple wear those cloths but my mom said being good without a burkha is batter than doing worst staff with wearing a burkha . My mom always support me but when I'm wrong she's d one who opposed me & stop talking with me until I realize & correct myself. That is the worst punishment for me

wow!! i also share everything with my mom...my also wear hijab..bt nt borkha..ammu told me we need to wear decent & covered cloths(hijab,fulltops) to respect our ALMAIGHTY ALLAH bt that doesnt mean u need to wear borkha..i also wear fulltops & with jeans.DONT TALK ABT SOCIETY 'S PPL .. My parents from Bangladesh, but I born in New York. I also wear full top t shirts or tops. If I wear a sleeveless dress or tops, I use jaket with it or use long sleeves t shirt underneath it.
I don't know about others but most Asians who live here always find problem with others.
I know I should cover my head to show respect toward Allah, but I cover my head only d time of prayers but not every time. I know this is bad bit I can't help myself in this. My logic is if I show respect toward Allah with a pure heart, that doesn't matter if ur head is cover or not. I might b wrong.
