It looks like many are unhappy with today's episode and I don't blame them. Because it's hard for us to simply sit and see our beloved Zoya being made to look like a fool.
But was she really behaving like a fool? Initially even I thought so and I cringed at the scene when Zoya started coughing just after seeing Tanveer's coughing and Asad's concern for her.
But after sometime, I have realized that actually our Zoya is being very 'in Character'.
See, Zoya has so many qualities which many of us can relate to. But at the same time she is very unique and has some very weird characteristics also. And this is what makes Zoya who she is and the reason why we love her to the core.
She is the 'quintessential modern girl'- well educated, strong, takes care of herself on her own, dresses according to what she thinks is best suited for her , does not hesitate to stand up in defense of herself and what she believes in.
But, there is a big BUT.. our Zoya although she is brave, strong and knows how to take care of herself, she deep down craves for love. And she craves for attention and someone to take care of her at moments when she is weak - Someone whom she can call as her own and someone who will love her beyond any limit. May be she is searching for that someone when she is searching for her father. But I think from the day Asad started taking care of her, she had shifted that attention seeking towards Asad. And now she has fallen in love with him. So she desires his attention even more.
In other words she is like a lost little girl who had lost her parents at a young age and learned to be brave and take care of herself on her own and face the world and it's harsh prejudices with a brave face and a smile. and today even though she is grown up woman, that lost little girl still resides in herself, craving for someone to love, cherish and take care of her at times when she is weak.
And from day one we have seen how Zoya can be boisterous at times and how she can be really childish,silly and attention seeking as well (like when she thought Asad was an agent and tried to gain his attention).
And right now, Zoya is in a very unnatural situation even for Zoya who most of the time manages to deal with anything with bravery and a smile or a silly Shayari.
She has just realized (may be still not fully) that she has fallen for a guy who says that he desires her but she is not good enough for him. And then she sees that guy hugging his best friend who appears to be the correct image of what he likes and what he says is perfect for him.
Her initial reaction was that of sadness, hurt, shock and unacceptability of what has suddenly happened to her.. we saw that reaction on Friday's episode.
And today she is trying to be brave, take stock of the situation and once again gain the attention of the person whose attention she has somehow managed to gain till this best friend arrived.
And Zoya being a child at heart at times, this is how she is trying to overcome everything and gain Asad's attention. Remember this is not the only time she rattled the plates also to gain Asad's attention. She did it before also. And this is not the first time she made a stupid Shayari when she was faced with an unnerving situation.. she has done it countless times.. Zoya is being true to herself.
And if she is true to the character we will very soon see her really coming to terms with what's happening in her life, become brave and may be even become serious and ignore Asad.. so let's not lose hope.
And I have a feeling that Zoya would have done that gas cylinder thing properly.. I have faith in her capabilities in doing such things (even if it's after searching the net). So who changed it again and made the gas leak?
I have a feeling that Zoya will get her first reason to be really vary of Tanveer or that maid tomorrow and I think she is going to be on alert and on her investigative, Miss Bond behavior from tomorrow onwards.
Zoya is not going to continue her silly behavior. It's just a phase and a way by which she deals with certain uncomfortable and sad situations or when she is in a fix. .. let's chill and enjoy the show.😃
