My hats off to Gul Khan and Mrinal Jha for their killer episode of unrequitted love and rejection. Never seen many shows really know how to kick you in the gutt with that type of feeling of loss and gloom. Goodness, talk about dark clouds entering our life this weekend. Last week they left us on a high and today they leave us wanting to slit our wrists in misery.
I appreciate their creativity in bringing in the triangle part and the effort to show that Zoya wants Asad and not because he wants her but because there is something about him that attracts her to him. We see to many dramas where we're never sure if the girl likes the guy and often we just do not have reason, but here, she is overwhelmed with the constant attention he gives her. She has opened up her heart to him, confided in him with the personal details of her life, but in return she has had nothing but heart ache from him and just when she thinks they have both connected, her world comes crashing down.
I sincerely hope that in an effort to fall out of love with Asad, the passion between these two are not killed. If so, then when the time comes for them to be together, and it has fizzled out, it will harder for us to get back into the romance. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and that which we cannot have makes us yearn for it even more but if we, like Zoya, are kept on hold for too long, we will give up and walk away. After all, there might just come a moment for Zoya who might one day simply walk away and cut her losses by not feeling for Asad anymore.
I also hope that this is not the opening for the Ayaan-Zoya romance. I don't mind a friendship, a crush on his side for her but her falling in love with him - that's too much and more so because that's Asad's brother and it really does demean her character. So I hope that Gul thinks twice about Zoya having any feelings for Ayaan. I sincerely hope that these two do not have a marriage of any kind - even a superficial one.
So for now folks we all in the same boat feeling horrible for Zoya and so I pass you a tissue and sob with you as well. Gosh do we all have a heavy heart or what? For Gul and Ms Jha to leave us this way, now that takes talent. 😉
