and yeah i agree with you... in fact the same question had plagued my mind many times i watched the show... i too sometimes wonder what is 'tehzeeb'? or how can people judge someone? or is there a need to judge people? there could be many reasons why people behave or do things certain way... exactly. everyone has baggage and defenses but why does ones conduct or way of life style need to be judged as "good" or "bad"...what is good and bad..aren't they just labels...according to our beliefs? do we really know what it is?

sometimes i feel isn't there a constant attempt to define the word in a particular way...

i truly don't know the meaning of 'tehzeeb' because it confuses me... for some i know it is the way a person dresses and conducts themselves... but for me there is no way... when i don't know what it represents how can i define or judge it? how can i judge a person without knowing him/her? exactly. 😳

i find the character of asad intriguing... he has many shades to his character even though he believes in 'black and white'... his conservative side makes me wonder how come he have that opinion and his loving and caring side makes me wonder how can he be so contradicting? exactly. so contradicting.

my personal favorite character in the show is dilshad... she actually symbolises 'tehzeeb' for me in a way... not by the way she dresses or behaves but by the way she is not ready to judge someone...

1. See honestly Tehzeeb is the grace and poise and manners with which a girl behaves with people around her and basically the roots for her tehzeeb are implanted by her parents upbringing...so thats what Tehzeeb is for me...a persons upfront behaviour or her clothes or her bindaas attitude does not display her tehzeeb those are her traits that comes from a person's nature..

Secondly when talking about asad he is conservative as he is just an over protective brother and son who cares for his loved ones so much that he can do anything for their safety even it means being a strict and harsh person at times or judging every person before talking.Now he has become that way as he comes from a broken home where he has seen his mom go through a lot of trials and tribulations during his childhood,he has seen his father betray his mother and leave them and go without any fault of theirs,he has seen financial crisis where his mother used to work for earning a Living..so all this has impacted him so much that now he judges people to an extent that if anyone does not behave like the way he expects he considers them to be badtameez..so all in all you cannot blame asad for this its just his hard life that has made him that way...although i know that it is wrong for him to judge zoya all the time but that is his habit and habits die hard...
3. To bring a change in him he has to first come out of the shell that he is in and let loose and live life a little freely and this can happen only if someone like zoya comes and breaks him loose after her love melts him and he understands the pain that she is also going through only then will he stop judging zoya after he understands her past...so asad is basically a rough guy who does not care for anyone other than his loved one's so for him tehzeeb will be a girl who always looks down and listens to him without retaliating

2. well , i believe that tehzeeb is being the way you are regardless of what kind of good or bad you are. that is tehezeeb for me . to be upfront about who you are and face everything everyday regardless of hurting and accepting your mistakes is tehezeeb for me. strength and being yourself regardless of your character or upbringing or your family household , is tehezeeb for me..:)

4. not trusting women to fight for themselves in the road and disapproving of a girl taking care of such people in the roads might be caring but it is also supressing the way of not letting or encouraging girls to take care of themselves . asad didnt like it when zoya fought gundas when they said something to najma..why? najamas silence , a girls silence..is tehezeeb? being quiet to remarks and harassment just cause you are a girl is not right . if the physical inferiority is what bothers this thing , then carry a blade in your purse. why not raise your voice when it is needed? im with zoya on this. 😆look what happened to zoya when she was quiet...asad could not stand the sight of blood on her hands or face , which happened cause she was helpless and quiet..like i said asad is dynamic cause he is contradicting himself all the time in his beliefs and actions..i know judging is his habit and hopefully zoya will fix that :D

true ...asad needs to come out :) he should " je ley zaara" :D..annd like you said zoya needs to free him :) right..and his idea of a girl subordinating being tehezeeb is exactly what is wrong with our society .
