I hope he realizes that soon and I feel he does because he has never let Zoya leave. Even if it is because his mom yelled at him he has always brought her back into his home. Yet he is so stubborn and doesn't listen to his mother when he makes other decisions such as letting Najma wear jeans and go out with friends, not having Zoya go meet Akram and etc. Somewhere deep inside he can not let her go from his life. I hope I am not being that English teacher that finds more meaning in the scene than the writers themselves.
