As asmita would know, 😆 i decided to celebrate new years' eve by watching back to back episodes of PKHJD that i had missed since 25th Dec. And My Oh My! What a week it has been. Although Payal will be making the official SOTW thread but these are just my over emotional rantings! Afterall i watched 5 episodes on a spree! UFFF!
i knew the story, i knew the happenings but Iqbal and Mona are so fantablous that they bring a whole new experience. Just listening to the story is not enough when you have Iqbal and Mona. You need to SEE it to know what ACTUALLY happened.
So keeping behind the naina revealation and Bilal's i will win my pyaar back and also Shergill's good for nothing skepticism, lets please jump on to rizreet.
Preet Kaur Bhullar - the perfect wife as Rizwaan likes to call her is forced to doubt the love of her life because .. well because her husband is too much in love with her to outright manipulate her.

Rizwaan Ahmed Khan pori duniya ko dhoka de sakta hai lekin Preet k samne haar jaata hai.
He says that Preet is pure and her face cant hide her feelings. What about you Rizwaan? Why are you unable to hide your intentions from Preet? Why cant you manipulate her like u manipulated Shergill or Naina? Why cant you just weave a web around her so that she stays entangled forever? No you cant. Because the more the time of your departure is nearing, you despertely want to dismantle lies from around her, and in doing so, you are unintentionally revealing your identity.
Preet DOES NOT have anything to strengthen her doubt except from Rizwaan's behaviour. Nothing. He is irritated, agitated. He gets confused and dumbfounded once Preet looks in his eye. He loses his mind when she questions him. He loses his heartbeat when she tries to find an answer in his eyes. He so badly wants to say the truth to her that even his 4 year old lie is falling short to protect him. Its a matter of seconds to win her trust back IF rizwaan really wants too.
Thats where the question lies. Is Rizwaan that big a cheat that he will manipulate Preet to save his cover? No he will not. He will never do that .. and this tragic flaw of falling in love with the forbidden has brought Preet knocking on his door .. a door which will open way to the darkness of Rizwaan's truth.
This week has been FABLOUS in terms of Rizwaan and Preet, and obviously for two people who have breathed life into these characters.
Iqbal just stole the show for me. His change of expressions in every single second, esp that scene where Preet interrogates him. His face. His face his eye shifts, his voice modulations. EXTRA ORDINARY. I could feel my heartbeat rise by just looking at this man's fear.
Yes Rizwaan is scared. Everything around him is crumbling. He is manipulating strangers but somehwere a silence that initially was a result of thier apparently tragic pasts is now deepening.
