Was wondering whether I should write anything today, given the celebratory mood in the forum. Don't get me wrong, I am pleased the man finally owned up. Still.. heck, I guess I just like playing devil's advocate 😛
Simple, sweet love story, with straight forward story telling - this was the USP of the show and they stuck it to it faithfully for a long time. Things began to deteriote once Pankhudi came to Mumbai and Adi started his best friend chant. It was ok though, as both were getting married to others. Then, the two get married and he does not let go of the chant. The CVs themselves, started realizing that this would not do.
They (the CVs I mean) tried this and that. Finally they came up with the 15 day separation. So far so good. What a golden opportunity to make Adi miss her, wonder why, analyze his feelings and realize he is in love...
But, having strayed from the path of straight forwardness, the CVs decided to up the drama. They got Pankhu critically injured and gave Adi his saansein ruk jayegi moment. Even now, things could have been salvaged. Pankhu gets ok, Adi wonders why he was so terrified etc. etc.
The CVs though, are so off the path, that they are not satisfied. They cast around and what do they light upon - why, the tried and trusted temple scene where God is told it is his hour of trial and he should prove that he exists. So the wind blows, bells ring, and in Adi's case the jhaap is said (not as was speculated with the help of the internet or an useful soul on frienddosti.com but with the help of the friendly neighborhood panditji). The God in question, be it Devi Ma, Shri Ram, Shri Krishna or in this case Lord Shiva, is by now so fed up with facing the same situation over and over again, that Pankhu is shoved back into the land of the living with unseemly haste, leaving the doctors muttering miracle.
Our CVs are just sitting back thinking job well done, when someone points out that Adi still does not know he is in love. So, hurriedly, they send Harish for a tete a tete with Adi, which leads to Adi admitting "I love Pankhudi".
Hurray, and all that... but what a contrast to the simple, beautiful, Pankhudi realization scene *sigh*
Precap - Adi in a tearing hurry to confess to Pankhu, Harish tells him 3 days are left. Really CVs??? After all that we endured, you are going to stay firm on the shart???
