Adi and Phankuri both can not live without each other. 15 days are wayy too long for them.. i think this is what is being tested... they both need each other...they need each other in their lives, adi can not live without telling her every single details and share his feelings and Phankuri has already expressed her love.
if they were only friends, you can live without talking to your friends but cant live without talking to the person you love. if it was only friendship then 15 days would not of been a big deal at all.
