agree with anusha.. thatz my theory too

this cud be the story of the past..

Preeti massi was in love with some guy who betrayed her when she was expecting...(ofcourse sucha pretty lady wud surely have had a bf)

When he betrayed preeti, she had to abort the child. So Harish came to her rescue and signed the papers. (Thatz the reason for her respect to Harish even now )

Nana shud be aware of this and hence Harish is so close to his heart... But Nana as always failed to convince Avantika and she continued to think that Harish has/had an affair with another lady .

initially i too felt the same... but...if that was so... preety is a strong n bold character portrayed.. she wud herself go n speak to avantika... thg here is not tht...

i think someone in his serial world got cheated.. n to help her out he signed...or by mistake got it signed also...possible...

that's y he stil loves avantika... am sure reason is stil unknown to him...he's not aware... coz avantika doesnt reveal the reason...
