For a few weeks, rumours were flying thick and fast the the makers have finally decided to pull the plug on much-loved Destroyed For Love. And now, we bring you the news that sadly, this news is true.
"It's just two episodes left, so yeah," confirmed Liana Singhania(Karishma Tanna) "I'm glad people have loved me, hated me, because Liana isn't your typical good girl- it's been fun playing her."
Abhay Raichand(Vivian Dsena) adds, "I think everyone got to be good and bad- it was great. I liked being bad and it was fun." Pia Rathod(Sukirti Kandpal) cuts in,laughing, "Yeah, I'm the only good girl here- everyone else got to be bad! I'm issuing a complaint with the makers, I wanna be bad next season and everyone else has to be good!"
And what does the bad guy, Rehan Verma (Karanvir Bohra) have to say on this? "Awaaz niche!" he replies and laughs. "I've never been the good guy on DFL and I loved being mean..and I guess people have loved my meanness..so that's a good thing."
Enter Sama Vyas(Sanaya Irani) and Advik Raheja(Mohit Sehgal). Says Sama, "It was fun being a bold girl and then a vampire...the whole futuristic element made it interesting..I love that I don't take nonsense from Advik...haha..I'm the girl who tames the tiger!" While Advik rolls his eyes. "How I'm going to spend eternity with this hellcat, I don't know," he says. "She destroyed my house, did you see that?"
Alina Khurana(Priya Chauhan) finally joins us from her last shot."No, I'm not telling you what it was," she says, smiling mischievously. "I don't want to be blasted by the director! Jokes apart, I love that I finally got to be proactive in Destroyed For Love, and I love that Liana and I are such close friends-" "They even have the same letters in their name!" interrupts Sama, laughing.
"It's been insane, the amount of time it's been running," says Shreya, coordinator. "It's going to end in a year and a month- almost the same duration as the original show. I'm really going to miss DFL."
A deeply emotional Dishu says, "It still feels like yesterday since we started and now it's time to say goodbye.More than anything, I would miss our brainstorming sessions which used to start from jokes sometimes and then we would end up actually implementing that joke in our update giving it a sinister look..."
With Destroyed For Love ending, we wonder if the end will be a happy one? Indu, a writer replies, "Well, every one will get their own endings, and one couple is going to get a sad ending...I think that'll be one thing to watch out for...I still remember the day when I was asked to be a part of this journey and which I had gladly accepted. We all of us here-really had a great time! All days were not same-sometimes we were busy-had less fun-discussed more. Our creatives had to contribute more of their precious time to make it work and reach DFL in a position where it is today-loved by all! So yes I will definitely miss those days a lot."
We asked the team if there is any possibility of an extension or another sequel? Dishu replies, "Not an extension, no, because frankly Destroyed For Love is not a story that should be stretched. As for us doing a sequel, that is directly dependent on availability of ideas, writers and interested readers...and actors, yes."
Well, we hope the readers of Destroyed For Love will enjoy it's final episodes. Arrivederci, people!
