Part 2
Dr. Roy was rubbing his eyes vigorously but was unable to get the pepper out of his eyes while a hysteric Pia was being comforted by Misha who had already called up Kabir. Soon the PCR Van stationed near their house had arrived and Dr. Roy was arrested and taken away. Pia was speaking in between her scared sobs: Mi..Mi.sshha... Tha.. Thank God you came. He He would have kill...ed me. He ki..ll..ed Maya too. B...u..t how come youuu are her..rr..e?
Misha was still calming her down and replied: The constable told Kabir about the discovery of the body and he told me about it as well as Ruhi's murder. Somehow my sixth sense was warning me of a danger for you and so I decided to come to you at once. Luckily I was visiting a hospital nearby for a special case, so managed to reach you just in nick of time and use my pepper spray. Thank God it's all over now.
Pia who was calm now spoke: yes, thank God. But I wonder why! Why did he kill Maya? He was her guardian and she did not really have any property left to her by her parents.
Misha replied:I guess we will find that out only when he opens his mouth.
Abhay rushed into the house just then, extremely scared for Pia. He has been informed by Kabir about Pia being attacked and so he had rushed home from midway and Kabir has promised to handle everything else. He was speaking out anxiously: Pia, Pia are you alright. I am so sorry Pia, I should have warned you about him, but I was so confused. I had no definite proof. I am so sorry Pia for putting you into danger like this.
Pia hugged Abhay and spoke out: I am alright Abhay and I am glad that it's all over now.
Abhay hugged her tightly so as never to let her go.
Next day Kabir came to their house and Jeh, T and Misha else was also present. Kabir told them that Dr. Roy had told them everything and he is beyond shock. Apparently the dirty old man fancied his 20 years younger ward and wanted her all for him. His desire for her had turned into obsession over the years. That was the reason why he never allowed to make any friends. It was he who had cut the tennis net so that she could not play with Bijoy and it was he who had placed that nasty blade outside her room so that she injures her foot. He had then kept applying a small insect's venom on her wound in the name of antiseptic, so that her wound would not heal and she would have to remain cut off from the world. But Maya had apparently felt his obsession and that's why she had agreed to marry Jeev when he proposed just to get out of that house and from under Dr. Roy's obsession. But falling in love with Angelo complicated things and she did not have the heart of using Jeev so horribly and hence broke her engagement. Later when she met Pia's dad, she sensed a feeling of security with him. She felt he could be the man who could protect her, but unfortunately Dr. Roy started giving him slow poison in the name of medicine which started taking its toll on his mental balance. Dr. Roy also started feeding all the lies about Maya to him making him suspicious. Maya sensed something wrong and that's why she wanted to leave this place, but unfortunately the Major blurted that out to Dr. Roy who could not see his plans failing so miserably. He had had enough and decided that id he cannot have Maya, then no one else too will have her and killed her. He then safely placed the dead body in Danish's bedroom so that when he came, he started believing that he had killed her since he was already on the verge of madness. Later when Danish had ran out to catch train to Pune, Dr. Roy quickly buried the body under the stairs, wrote that forged note and rushed off to Pune in his car and reached there before Danish. Next day when Danish had been sent to the asylum, he ordered a staircase to be built over that area.
Pia asked if Ruhi knew all this and was that the reason why she was killed, and when and how was she killed, but Kabir replied: we don't know whether she knew anything or not, but Dr. Roy took her innocent letter to be that of a blackmailer's letter. When she mentioned that she does not want to get involved with Police, Dr. Roy assumed that she is threatening that she has some information which could be useful to Police. And then when she asked if there is money in all this, Dr. Roy assumed that she is blackmailing him to give her money. That's why before calling you to his office, he had already sent a different letter to Ruhi to meet him at 1 pm. He had then met her at the station, walked her to the cliff and then killed her. He had then replaced the letter with the one he wrote in front of you and which he had taken back from his receptionist before she could send it to the courier's office. He had also poisoned your chocolate powder when he had come here in your absence and he only called both Jeev and Bijoy so that suspicion will go on him.
Pia then asked Abhay: You had suspected Dr. Roy from a long time, what made you suspect him in the first place?
Abhay replied: When both Jeev's and Bijoy's analysis of Maya's character matched and contrasted with Dr. Roy's words.
Pia: But everyone else said otherwise, like that gardener.
Abhay: precisely, and who could have impressed this thing on the gardener - who else but Dr. Roy himself. And that is why I hate that man. He not only killed her, but he also killed her image, her character. She was a sweet lady who could sacrifice her love for others' happiness and who could love a step child as her own. Yet he killer her character to such an extent that all people remembered about her was that she was man crazy who ran away with her boyfriend leaving her responsibilities behind. People forgot the sweet loving woman and never even bothered to find anything about her.
Pia pondered upon his words. She was already crying understanding Abhay's meaning and she finally spoke: You are right Abhay. And now I am glad that I set to seek out the truth. This was the least I could do for a woman who had given me a mother's love for the little time that I knew her. I am glad that I could clear her name and get her justice at last.
I am just concerned about Kantaben now. Would she still want to work here with us? Have you met her?
Abhay replied with a wink: Yes I have and she is willing to come back to help you take care of the baby.😉
Pia blushed at this while others looked at each other with confused expressions.
