"This is so cool, Dad I love you" squealed a super excited Ayush looking at the new range shiny small red bike with inbuilt gear custom made for him standing in the middle of his room.
Abhay smiled - I love you too, and glad u liked it.
Ayush - I love it. I am gonna tell Isis and Tris.
And out ran he past his smiling mother to call them. Pia looked at Ayush's first b'day gift by his father.
Pia- you know sometime it amazes me how you understand, (scooping up the scattered stuffs of Ayush's room and placing them on the shelves), him so well within a few days of knowing him. Its like the past two years without you never happened.
Abhay- I wish it had not.
The sad tone of Abhay's voice made Pia turn herself towards him. He was gazing at her, his expressions unreadable. Pia lowered her eyes, avoiding his gaze. She knows and had felt he wants to have The Talk. But she does not. She had just started accepting the mere fact that Abhay is here. Destiny might have brought him to her to Ayush and its true she has forgiven him. But does she want to talk about the past. It still hurts. But Abhay was Abhay. He was as stubborn as her. Slowly advancing towards her he cupped her face in his strong hands and made her look into his eyes.
Abhay (his voice controlled yet shaky)- Why didn't you told me? Why did you left me, Pia? You have forgiven me now than why did not you waited for me back then to solve everything. You knew I would come back to you. You knew I only loved you still you left me? And Ayush? I missed everything Pia. Tomorrow my son celebrate his 2nd Birthday (shaking Pia by the shoulders). Do you know how much it hurts to know I was not there on his first? His birth, His first smile, his first words, the first time he walked everything I missed Pia and why? Because you did not trusted me?
No it was because you never trusted me enough, said Pia back fighting her tears back. "You think I gave you a punishment but it was not. I trusted you Abhay loved you and trusted you to only tell me the truth. But you did not. You choose to keep mum go on with your theatrics and crushed my heart on the way. I know you loved me but lies and games used to kill me each and every second. When I left you I did it so you can do whatever you wanted to do without putting my heart at stake. I am very selfish where my love is concerned. I can't share you with anyone, for anyone.
Abhay- Didn't you missed me? I hurted you I know but what about my hurt Pia? When you came to know about Ayush did not you ever even for once considered telling me?
The way Abhay was ripping her, bombarding her with his questions it was all Pia could do to show him just how much she missed him how much she loved him. Standing on her tip toes, bringing her face close to his and placing her soft lips on his Pia bared her soul for Abhay to read. Initially startled Abhay kissed her back and found himself drowning in Pia's memories. She showed him how much she everything. Her hurt, pain, fear, love and even joy of having Ayush. The more Abhay saw the more he wanted to know. He deepened the kiss crushing her mouth and like a waterfall every moment of Pia's life came cascading on to him. Her lonliness, her time with Isis and Tris, the time she came to knew of Ayush, Ayush's birth, his first words, his first steps. Like a movie every precious moment of her and Pia's life flashed past Abhay's eyes burning them in his mind. When they broke up to catch air, Abhay was still reliving those moments. Abhay hugged Pia closer to him in an embrace which felt like home to Pia.
Scene fades.
Pia could only thank her stars for having three supernatural as her friends and her lover. Preparation for Ayush birthday would have driven her crazy had Abhay, Tris and Isis not taken it upon themselves to make the day the best birthday ever for the little hybrid who was enjoying himself watching everyone pulling out all stops for his special day more than he should. While Pia laid out all his favorite items for breakfast, Isis gifted him a box of chocolate which never seems to be emptied no matter how much he ate. Tris brought him the latest play-station and Abhay inspite of Pia's furious protest brought him a beautiful brown stallion in addition to 2 enormous shepherd and a pony giving Pia the feeling that over-nite her classy suburban home had changed into a farmhouse.
"All it has missing is poultry animals," huffed Pia as she battered the cake mix a little more vigourously than needed.
"That can be arranged in a jiffy if you want. What say Isis?" Abhay replied with a smirk from behind her and Isis nodded enthusiastically winking at her leaving her more frustrated.
By the evening the whole place look nothing short of a Disney land. The swimming pool was ready with all its water toys while the trees in the backyard were decorated with balloons and lights of various clors and shapes. A clown was already entertaining most of the children with his antics while some were busy devouring the delicious savouries laid out for them. A few mothers of Ayush's school friend also were invited by Pia, and she was regretting it big time. Abhay was introduced by an excited Ayush to his friends as his dad and it seems that the Children's mom paid more attention to it than them. Abhay has been the centre of attention ever since. He was being a perfect host to them chatting animatedly and smiling at them flashing his winner dimples making them more weak on the knees than they already were.
"By the rate you are going Pia you will end up boring a smoking hole with your glaring in the delicate empty head of Mrs. Barrymore." Commented Isis looking at Pia throwing daggers at Ayush's best friends mom going all smiles over abhay.
"Just look at her Isis, how she is battling her eyelashes at him. I feel like gauzing her eyes out," muttered Pia with clenched teeth.
Isis snorted on her glass of sherry. "Pia darling you should see yourself in the mirror right now, you look as furious as vengeful spirit, calm down baby or you will scare the children away from your own birthday party. And what's with all this anger over someone eyeing your hottie blood sucker? Do you expect every woman in this world to be a lesbian?" she asked raising her eyebrows to Pia, who rolled her eyes.
Pia- No I don't expect that but I don't like everyone to hit on Abhay. Can't they leave him.
Isis - They would have had their hormones been frozen.
Pia snapping- You are not helping at all, you know what leave it its time to cut the cake.
The Huge Chocolate cake covered completely with coconut icing unicorn shaped cake was placed in the middle. Ayush excitedly cut it and fed the first piece to Abhay smearing his face with cream and then to Pia, tris and Isis. His friends were having a gala time. they started various kids games where Ayush won on his favorite ones and lost deliberately on his least favorite game.
Isis was entertaining a group of older kids with conjuring tricks, whilst Abhay & Tristan played perfect host to the mothers.
Abhay winked at a furious Pia smirking at her and increasing her fury.
Ayush & his friend Duke ran in the far corner of the backyard in the mouth of the woods that starts behind pia's courtyard. Engaged in a friendly tussle Ayush heard a little too late the panting and heavy breathing close to him, and the foot falls of danger closing on him. taking advantage of his friends distraction Duke pushed him and got away giggling madly.
Ayush looked up from the ground to find himself staring at a pair of yellow eyes. Before he could so much as blink his eyes a sharp hot blow in his forehead knocked him down.
