What is a Smoothie?

A Smoothie is a cool and deliciously creamy drink made from fruit, fruit and more fruit, plus a little fruit juice. The best Smoothies are served ice-cold and are freshly made when the customer orders.

Smoothies have become phenomenally popular in recent years, and are now a large part of the soft drink markets both in the UK and in the US.

Last year Britons in the UK drank 34 million litres of Smoothies, worth 134 million, whilst in the US sales of Smoothies were worth $2 billion. According to a report by Mintel Market Research, these figures are set to triple in both countries within 3 years.

In Europe, Smoothies have appeared on the consumer market more recently, but all the signs indicate that they will be even more popular than in the UK.

Another trend is the movement away from carbonated, soft drinks. These are invariably filled with sugar or artificial sweeteners and often contain chemicals, preservatives and artificial colorings. Many people in increasing numbers are looking for healthier and more nutritious alternatives.

Our Smoothies are made from delicious mixes of prepared, frozen fruit, blended with a little fruit juice at the time of the customer's order. Our Smoothies contain all the flavour, goodness and vitamins of freshly picked fruit.

Our Smoothies are supplied to the retailer in compact individual quick frozen sachets. The fruit that goes into the sachets is harvested, chopped, packaged, and quick frozen – typically within a few of hours of being picked. Each sachet contains two, three or four different types of fruit – for example mango, passion fruit and peach, and is sufficient to make one generous sized Smoothie. We have sachets of different sizes allowing retailers to serve Regular, Large and Extra large Smoothies.

Simply take a sachet of frozen fruit from the freezer, place in a drinks blender, add juice, mix and serve! It takes 30 seconds to prepare and serve an ice cold real fruit Smoothie.
