Jai , always has been a ladies man. I mean it was clear hint from the beginning. Girls must have been come flocking on to him. He never had problems getting girls under his pants. In short, he never got rejected by them. Girls were so desperate to be with him. Take example of Sanjana in the begining, thats very true. but remember once he said to neel "ladkiyon ke saath affair karna alag hai par kisi ladki ke saath sagai karke uski life barbaad karna galat hai" well i respected him at that time. than suddenly this girl shows up.He meets his equal. A fiesty young brat, and he know she has a dark past. He falls for more, and more when they encounter each other. Cahhiye, it was fight, or when they were becoming friends. When Abhay showed up, he agreed to be her fake B.F, u know why he knew he could lose her to Abhay any time. He used Abhiya separation as a tool b/c he knew Piya would go running back to Abhay's arms anytime. He knew what deep connection Abhiya shared. He spent much as time possible time with her so he could cherish those memories later. Also, I think he had hope this would lead to make his place on Pia's heart not as a fren, but a lover. yes that hope is still there and thats what he is diffirent from other cjharacters. his character has different color shades, hence interesting to watch. Now, I think that hope has gone. Now, I feel it's constant fear of rejection, and insecurities that are piling on him to act this way. Think about from the beginning it has given hints, that he has never been rejected .Now that I have analyzed character with fear of rejection , and insecurities make him say what he does not want. He thinks that maybe threatening Abhay all the time will make Abhay Piya reject more , and more. syria, its not just about rejection, just think that he has lost a lot recently, and pia is the only good thing he has. Piya seeing the constant rejection will eventually decide to move on, and he will be there for her through get through the heartbreak. He believes that by supporting her, ultimately he will make place on Pia's heart. Jai is using every tactic he has right now up on his sleeves to separate Abhiya b/c he fears rejection from Pia, and his insecurities are also playing a major role. Behind that tough wolf is a lover who does not want to get rejected.He is very fragile inside. He just wants to be loved by the girl he loves.Leading to his obsession to separate Abhiya. Sometimes, I do doubt by analyzing him this way? Does he really mean her rather have Pia killed than be with her . this is something i doubt. keh ne ko koi kuch bhi keh sakta hai. abhay has said many such but did he mean them? no,isnt it? then how can yu be sure jeh means them?
One more thing I want to add, his hate and vengeance for Abhay is empowering him more than his love for Pia too.!
To summed it up, Jai is feeling 4 emotions rights now. One side there constant fear of rejection which comes from his insecurities, than other hand there is guy whose hate and vengeance for Abhay that is empowering him . He knows the weakest spot for Abhay is Pia . So he is killing two bird with one stone. One side he is picking a sensitive spot which he think will make Abhay vulnerable, and one side he think telling Abhay to stay away from Pia will mean he can have the chance to make place in in Pia's heart.
Note. Jai is desperately trying to hold on to something he can never have. I think he need guidance to the light before it's too late. Hope he realizes by only trying to hurt Abhay, he is putting a knife through Pia's heart. I am not expecting him to be saint. In the end, just want him to realize it's worth having being Pia's life as a friend, than losing her by his actions. I am not expecting him to like Abhay, i am just expecting at least he will come to respected what Abhiya have. jeh will realize when the circumstances come. just like in twilight where jacob realizes when the war breaks out and he need to support edward though he hates him and accept that bella loves edward.
