Abhay never wanted to be the leader. Even he didn't want to be vampire. What's the use of this life which is cursed? He loves piya so much but cant get closer to her. If he is normal person he can easily get his love. If he becomes leader now he may have to hurt piya in future which he will never like. He will rather love to destroy himself before harming piya. Wo kehte hai na hume doosre cheez humesha accha lagta hai khudka bura. Dur se lagta hai abhay got so many things but if we see from abhay's pov he got nothing. A cursed life where he has to sacrifice his love, an earlier lover Maithili whom he loved so much, lost his life for her but who freezed her. He didn't give Metz vampire life coz he knew this life is cursed. and now a vampire throne which will part him more away from piya.
