Abhay & Madhu : My Sacrifice.
"My Sacrifice"
Hello my friend, we meet again
It's been awhile, where should we begin?
Feels like forever
Within my heart are memories
Of perfect love that you gave to me
Oh, I remember
When you are with me, I'm free
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice
We've seen our share of ups and downs
Oh how quickly life can turn around
In an instant
It feels so good to reunite
Within yourself and within your mind
Let's find peace there
When you are with me, I'm free
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice
I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again
When you are with me I'm free
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
Cause when you are with me I am free
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice, My sacrifice
I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again
My sacrifice.
Before , I kick off the post , I just want to say that today's episode belonged to Abhay and Madhu. None else. Everyone was good but Abhay and Madhu stood out. Abhay for being the HERO and Madhu for being the MOUNTAIN I have always seen her. Just a peripheral character , but Madhu's character and the believability with which Papia Sengupta plays it , is one of my favourites.
Anyway , here's my dedication to the her o and the mountain.
ABHAY
Byronic hero forever. Martyr forever . Actually, the original sacrificing bahu of Indian Television. Normally , perpetually crying and sobbing , self-sympathetic characters irritate the hell out of me. I do not support and I do not understand unnecessary martyrdom where the 'ideal' hero/heroine wastes around 15 minutes a week telling the audience and the characters that what a dukhi-aatma he or she is.
So, what makes Abhay different inspite of being the born-to-suffer hero? This is why. Abhay doesn't complain. Abhay doesn't feel sorry for himself. Abhay doesn't justify himself. He keeps his sadness, melancholy and his demons to himself. Never feeling sorry for himself and his state in front of anyone and never letting anyone know what he suffers inside. Till date , even Piya has no grip of how ridiculously deep Abhay's pain is. Hero , not just for others , but himself as well.
What Abhay did for Piya today is not something very great or very unexpected or heart-wrenching . Maybe from audience's POV , but not from Abhay's POV . His savior nature , be it for Piya or Misha or Tracker or anyone , is embedded in him. It is his nature to save and nurture. And would he think even once before sacrificing himself? He wouldn't. He didn't.
Abhay wasted no time in taking a decision to sacrifice himself . No melodramatic tears and 20 page dialogues of ' oh how will I live without you, Piya'. Man of action that he is , simply told his parents that Piya's life was supreme and he didn't care if he had to 'die' for her. And even if he 'died', it would be good. A release from this life of damnation. Chaand and Haseena were worried, especially Chaand. He was shocked that Abhay could say something like this. Whatever , their feelings for Abhay , they don't want to lose him. Ever.
As Piya lay surrounded by candles in the jungle , Abhay , all set for the ritual , told his reluctant parents to leave. Before the ritual in the full moon , he told an unconscious Piya that he can do nothing unless she wants to live . Like he had told her in the hospital , in a similar situation - I am your strength. Just come back. When you wake up, you will have returned to your normal life. You will live, Piya , even if am not there anymore.
Sacrificing his blood to the moon , he asked back for Piya- a half vampire's life. I don't know if the creatives followed the legendary folklore where it is said that dark forces return one life in exchange for another . What Abhay did today was more of a witch ritual where witches often reach death's door while channelizing energy for a magical ritual . It is a draining process where you become an energy-insulator basically. It can kill you , just like a high voltage electric current. So, no wonder, Abhay collapsed.
The words that Abhay told a petrified sobbing Piya while life ebbed out of him , actually, hold no meaning or relevance except the declaration of his love , of course. Move on. Live a happy life without me. Blah, blah, blah. The man inside the hero still doesn't get the point, does he? Did he forget what Piya told him when he psychically connected to her in her bleeding unconscious state ' " I love you, Abhay and there is no greater reality for you and me. Rest everything around us is either fake or fleeting." It doesn't matter where Abhay goes or what becomes of Abhay-Piya tomorrow. She loves him , she lives him , she hearts him and she always will. Period.
So here's looking at you, Abhay. As much as I adore you, sometimes I wish you were not such a hero. And not such a tragedy in motion. Oh, well.
MADHU
Beautiful Madhu. Perfect home maker Madhu. Good Madhu. Bad Madhu. Suffering Madhu. Selfish Madhu. Sacrificing Madhu . Forgiving Madhu.
GREY MADHU.
Then , why do I like her so much? I like her because her good karma has always balanced out her bad karma by canceling it out. She is not a saint. She never was. But for that every one mistake that she has done , Madhu has gone out and done something so human that you understand looking at her ' it is okay to make mistakes , it is okay to be a grey human. Not all of us can be Tulsis and Laalis or have to be. We are good , we are bad , we are ugly but we still keep a conscience. Madhu reminds you that and how.
Today , as she told her daughters about her own not- so ' good history , I felt proud of her in a way. She had the guts to tell her daughters that Arnab always loved Sugandh , that she , their own mother manipulated Arnab into marrying her . That Arnab never got over Sugandh and that the vamp in the love story of Arnab and Sugandh were not just the families , but she as well. Madhu shredded her own ideal image of an ideal woman in the eyes of her daughters . She stood up for her cheating husband ( meeting Sugandh as a married man and re-igniting a relationship has no justification in my eyes , am sorry) , she stood up for the now dead Sugandh and she stood up for Piya. Tell me then, how can Arnab not love Madhu? A grey woman who spent her life rectifying the mistake she made. A woman who let Arnab have an EMA with the woman he loved just because she felt she was somewhere responsible for Arnab and Sugandh's fate and thought it to be her redemption. A woman who made her husband not only love her but respect her as well. A woman who accepted another woman's blood with open arms. A woman who spent her entire life loving a man and bearing all the harshness simply because she thought she had ruined his life.
So , why shouldn't I see Madhu as a mountain? She is. She is not a hero like Abhay . But she is as heroic and as human as the likes of us can be.
FOOTNOTE :
I am glad that the initial part of the episode was edited and inserted with the Abhay-Misha conversation. I think Abhay felt hurt and disappointed by Misha , only. He didn't care about others or what they were thinking. But Misha's behavior upset him. If anyone else would have raised their hand at Piya , Abhay would have made marmalade out of them. However , he didn't lose his temper at her. He was hurt. Hurt that Misha could think Abhay was a thief. Hurt that Misha could behave like that with him and Piya. And all his disappointment in Misha was compressed in that shaky " Thanks for everything" that he delivered to a shaken and moved Misha. Abhay cares about Misha and I think that is the reason , he was hurt , not angry at her actions.
Oh and T! Like seriously, you want to sleep with Abhay? And that too by behaving like a despo-on'steroids? Woman, I have just three words for you. GET-A-LIFE!
Love and luck always,❤️
GOD bless everyone.🤗
