New vampire on the block |
It has recently been revealed in STAR One's Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani that Siddharth aka Siddhant Karnick is a vampire, and part of a vampire clan. We catch up with the new vampire on the show as he speaks about his role, co-stars and much more. |
According to you, what is the most interesting aspect about Siddharth? Playing the vampire Siddharth is a lot of fun. I get to drink blood and have super-human strength, plus get to wear stylish black coloured clothes all the time. I love playing bad-guy roles, and this one is just perfect. Would you call yourself a boss from hell? (Laughs) In fact, I would love to have a boss like Siddharth. He is a hit with the ladies, and if he was my boss, I would take notes from him on how to handle girls. Of course, if I was a girl like Panchi, I would find Siddharth obnoxious. It must be horrible for her, as I make her suffer a lot. However, it is better to have an entertaining boss rather than a boring one. Have you ever had to deal with a boss like Siddharth? Unfortunately, no, I have not had a boss like him. As I said, I would have loved to borrow tips about how he juggles so many women. Most of your scenes are with Panchi (Vahbbiz Dorabjee). How is your rapport with her off-screen? Our rapport off-screen is fantastic. I have never laughed so much as I have while shooting with her. She is really funny, and shooting with her is so much entertaining. On the other hand, she is an angel. It is difficult to find people as innocent as her in today's times. What can you tell us about your character? Is he positive, negative, or has grey shades? Being a vampire, Siddharth seems evil, but once the audiences know the story of my life, which will be unraveled later in the show, I am sure they will sympathize with me. I can be bad at times, but I don't think I am evil. Ekta Madam has crafted a fine balance in my character and created a mystery. Most characters on TV are either good, bad or evil, but I play a mix of these traits. Do you identify with Siddharth in any way? Not really, because I am a boring person in real life. I cannot handle a single woman (laughs). The similarity would be that both of us enjoy whatever we do. In Siddharth's case, he enjoys destroying everyone's life. Any tips for people who have bosses like Siddharth? My tip for guys- Carry a notepad to office and take tips about how to handle women. Girls- Carry a knife along with you. It may come handy (laughs). What do you like most about the show Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani? The energy on the sets of our show is fantastic because we are a team of young people. Working in a daily can be boring, but the youth factor keeps us alive and kicking. Even our director is fantastic, and allows us to experiment with our scenes. I have not got such creative freedom in any of my previous shows. Any interesting off-screen moments that you would like to share? Most of my scenes are with Panchi aka Vahbbiz Dorabjee. Her innocence is very useful when it comes to doing scenes with her. A lot of us have smartened up and lost our innocence, but she just uplifts everyone with her personality and energy. She just keeps us laughing all the time, so it would be difficult to choose just one memory. A message for your fans? I have always tried to do something different in my shows – be it Remix, Mahi Way or Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani. My well-wishers have been very supportive, and have appreciated my new look and character. I just hope people love my latest role as the vampire Siddharth. Don't forget to watch Siddharth in Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani every Monday-Saturday at 8.30 pm only on STAR One. |
