I don't think anyone puts a gun on anyone's head to make them watch PKYEK at 8.30pm on SO every Monday to Saturday. I am sure we all have a 100+ channels to sift and surf through. And EK is not forcing us to watch her show. She has always been the " Watch my show or get going" types and that is how we have taken her. We watch her shows, inspite of all the cribbing and hating. I , myself an example. I don't like most of her shows but i watch them because in all her 'typical' shows , i find something that intrigues and binds me. PKYEK is no different.
Like any of her shows, PKYEK has the good, the bad but no ugly yet.
Positives : Brilliant casting , good production values, good characterizations, amazing mutual chemistry between the whole gang, equal attention to all characters , feel-good factor balanced with the dark mood of the story, high on both the emotional and suspense factor, lot of intrigue and unanswered questions.
Negatives : Extremely slow paced , tendency to stretch tracks and forget certain tracks, still debating on the progress of the story which clearly shows in the hesitance reflected in the flow of the screenplays , average special effects , erratic flow of emotions in all the characters except Abhay , Kabir and Misha.
So? Big deal. This show is just 1.5 month old, right? Still finding footing , still arriving on a streamlined story and flow and still getting into it's skin. It is a baby in comparison to the other shows that we rave and rant about. It is still evolving and the team is evolving with it , looking at how it is being taken. So, give the show it's due instead of opening topics after topics dissing the show. Balance your critique with the good side as well.
The problem is that majority of the audience wants the creative team to kick start the Abhay-Piya story and their amazing chemistry only makes the audience more irritated and restless for the story to get started. Well, all i can say is that the foundations are being laid right now and Maya's track , though stretched is important. I realized this during TERE LIYE. I could not stand the show the first four months but now , i really like it. Now, i understand that why those oh-so-boring teens Anu and Taani were important. Similarly , in PKYEK, the story is moving but it is very slow. And like all EK shows, this one too will find it's moment of momentum and there will be no turning back.
The show has potential, it is doing well and it will do better if the audience is supportive and patient. A lot of hardwork and resources go into making a show. The creative team is not great but they are trying and it shows in those amazing AbhIya scenes they write for you.
All i can say is , that instead of opening 4-5 topics back to back on how bad the show is or how boring it is getting , i suggest , honestly , that you switch off from the show and the forum and come back when PKYEK gets the thrust that you all are waiting for.
Lastly , PKYEK is just a 1.5 month old baby. It is not great but it is much better than a lot of crap being dished out all around.
I might have sounded rude but it was getting too much. The show is getting popular and what it needs is OBJECTIVE CRITIQUE.
P.S- I hope the Maya track ends next week. Maya has served her purpose.
Love and luck always,❤️
GOD bless everyone. 🤗
