Living Room, Sambhav's Mansion

Natasha , as was her habit and her attitude sat with her legs up on the center table , her cherry red boots kicking against each-other rhythmically , indicating the devious activity of her quick and evil mind. Maithli poured her a tall glass of bubbly and putting it on the table, sat back on the couch , crossing her legs and eyes sharpened towards the dusky beauty whose cat eyes always erased the difference between human beings and animals.

Maithli ( curiously )- Okay, so what are the headlines that are going to rock my world?

Natasha ( smiles )- What do I get out of this deal? I am a Vampire and a Bolshie. We don't do any kinda social service and you know that , honey. If I give you the weapon that will separate Abhay and Piya forever , what are you going to do for me?

Maithli ( raises a warning eye brow )- Except for harming Abhay , anything under the sun, sweetie. And I. ALWAYS.KEEP.MY . WORD.

Natasha ( sips the bubbly )- I know. Well, I want you to do two things – protect us against the vampire slayers and kill Anushka when we ask you to without a question and handover her goldrose vial… the one which she wears in her neck to us.

Maithli ( listens carefully and nods at her )- Hmmm…. Vampire slayers. Not a problem.i can protect you guys against them. But killing Anushka? You do understand who we are talking about her? THE ANUSHKA. If I kill her which will mean taking myself to the edge of death – covens of thousands of witches are going to turn me into powder and hunt you all Bolshvas down!.....She is protected by the white spirits and they will come running to save her and make milkshakes out of me!

Natasha ( laughs )- That's the catch! True, Anushka's protectors and slave spirits will jump out of her body and shred you to threads the moment you attack Anushka. But there is a twist here…..The spirits can protect Anushka against a physical enemy but they are useless against a CURSE that Anushka is destined to suffer. The witches' rulebook commands all witches not only to give curses but BEAR them as well. Understand?

Maithli almost drops the wafer bowl and her hazel brown eyes go wide in shock.

Maithli ( shocked and excited at the same time )- WHAT?????????????..D-DID I HEAR YOU RIGHT? You mean Anushka is plagued by a curse?

Natasha – Yes. But first , do you promise me, Metzie? You will do what I told you?

Maithli ( suspiciously )- I will but why is that strange gold-rose vial which she wears around her neck so important?

Natasha ( grins )- Why do you bother about it? You keep Abhay.

Maithli ( thinks )- I promise. I will protect the vampire slayers and yeah , handover the vial without doing any hanky panky with it. Happy? Now, tell me.

Natasha ( darkly )- Good girl. Anushka carries and bears the brunt of a curse unleashed on her by a mistress of spices. Anushka ended up messing a healing spell and killed thev old woman. Now, Anushka is eternally damned to dissolve into nothingness by the wrath of the spices….any spice…. ( her eyes twinkle )…. Get my point?

A small smile spreads across Maithli's face as she understands and comprehends what Anushka is saying. She nods her head and her mind seems at work already.

Maithli ( thinking )- Ahaa, I think I get it now. Any physical contact with the spices will conclude the curse and Anushka will be consumed by the spices….

Natasha – YUP!....If nothing else kills witches , magic spells gone wrong and curses do!....but we don't want Anushka dead ….YET. And even when you kill her in the future, don't kill her by the curse . Find another way. I don't care how you do it. But we want Anushka's body – untarnished and intact. Get me?

Maithli ( looks confused )- Are you nuts? I was going to use the curse to kill her in the future as well. Now, you want me to find another way to kill her? Sweetie, this is Anushka we are talking about.

Natashha ( rolls her eyes )- You're a witch. Find a way. And that is well ahead in the future and you have ample time…. Right now, just use the 'threat' of the curse to weaken Anushka and get your job done.

Maithli ( cooling it off )- Hmmm… hell yeah! I am gonna do it… ( darkly)…. Finally, Anushka. You are defeatable………

Natasha looks at Anushka's gleaming face and sits back in the couch with a fiendish victorious look on her face…..

A Dark Burial Chamber in some corner of the world.

It is dark , closed in , a rock cave with numerous tombstones . There are a few lanterns hanging in there , giving it the feeling and appearance of a hidden secret getaway of the middle world that one reads about in fantasy books. There are bats clinging on the ceilings , on the walls and there is a deathly silence – only slightly disturbed by Abhay's breathing as he lay on a tomb like a lifeless statue , his face drained out of colour and life ( as if there was any ever)….his ice blue eyes looking up at the ceiling and his hand on his heart which has stopped beating ages ago.

Maithli's and Piya's faces were flashing across his head. Both of them professing undying love for him. Him falling in love with both of them , embracing them…. All lifetimes and promises of faith , love , trust and total surrender. But as he closed his eyes, only Piya remained. Piya remained because she was the one who had loved him truly- loved him enough to die for him – lose sanity. He had waited for Maithli , her love across centuries only to be slapped in the face by the crude reality of her betrayal. And today , when the identical face but a divine soul loved him in the real sense, he was all hollow and scared inside. Piya's feelings for him scared him , killed him because deep down , he was still that Abhay 200 years ago who was betrayed and left alone. So, yes, he had run away. Run away thousands of miles , escaping Piya and her love for him that made his skin shiver. But it was an useless exercise because he was CONNECTED to Piya , not just by the blood that he had given to save her life – but also by that invisible bond that had bound her to him the first time she had set her eyes on him. Her yearning , her cries , her longing and the grief that he had left with her had not let him breathe him in peace even once. She was all around and so powerful was the force of her feelings , Abhay was drawn back to her like a magnet – he was forced to visit Piya in her dreams and explain things to her. He was devastated to see her state and how insanely she was in love with him. She loved him so much that it ached her heart hard enough to find it difficult to take a single heartbeat. He could still feel her breath on his neck , the warmth of her fair arms around him and the promise of her lips on his own……..Piya was like poison in his veins now. He couldn't get rid of her without getting rid of himself…..

Abhay ( softly )- I wish I could do something… something to make you forget me , Piya. Forget that you knew me at all…. ( frustrated )….i wish I was a human being , Piya…. Human to give you the life that you expect out of me…..But…..

He doesn't finish the sentence and just gulps down his emotions. He felt trapped in this circus of feelings and there was no way out. He loved Piya and he knew it but his love meant inevitable end to Piya's life. How was he ever going to change that?

Just then, Abhay heard footsteps approaching the pathway of the tomb- strong masculine footsteps coming his way. And now , away from the human madness , in the space of the vampires , Abhay's sensitive sensory nerves could clearly sense who or rather what was coming his way… an animal…..damn! a werewolf? ….UGHS! Double ughs! SAMBHAV! How could he forget that Sambhav was talented in hunting Abhay down for a good 200+ years.

Abhay slowly sat up , his elbows on his knees and his hands on his temples as Sambhav sashayed in , whistling and swinging an aluminum flask in his hands. Abhay just shook his head and rested his head on the back wall, closing his eyes.

Sambhav ( coolly )- Hello sweetheart! Hide and seek over , dude. I found you! Yippie!..... ( looks around )… Humph! Dude, why don't you vampires do something about renovating your crypts and tombs? I mean, at least get a pest control done!

Abhay ( his eyes still closed and controlled temper )- Sambhav, I won't ask you why you are here but I will surely tell you to take a U turn and get going. Leave.

Sambhav rolls his eyes and sits on a tomb , saying sorry to the lady vampire lying in the grave inside , below him. He looks at Abhay , narrowing his grey eyes at him.

Sambhav ( sarcastically )- Leave? So that you go to sleep in one of these hideous looking tombs and your Piya goes mad in the head and jumps into some lake with sharks awaiting with open mouths?

Abhay ( irritated )- Sambhav, sharks don't live in lakes, for heaven's sake. And…. ( face goes pained and pensive )… And, Piya is not going to jump into any lake. I visited her . I don't think she will do anything stupid, now.

Sambhav ( in disbelief )- Who provided you tequila shots in this morgue that you are talking drunk to me, Abhay? What makes you think that Piya is going to be okay after your dream invasion and sing Taylor Swift's songs in your wait and NOT touch the next level of insanity? ….I thought you'd have better sense after the Misha episode last night! She did exactly all that I had warned her against!....YOU CAN'T TRUST WOMEN WITH THEIR HEARTS AND HEADS!

Abhay is puzzled and irritated by the logics that Sambhav is throwing his way.

Abhay ( scanning Sambhav)- You nearly murdered Misha, last night and today you are talking about her as though she is some geography chapter….(face hardens )….no remorse? No guilt? You are supposed to have a beating heart unlike me….

Sambhav ( remembering Misha's disgusted face)- I am a monster, Abhay. An animal and it is my nature to kill….( shakes his head )…. No, I am… NOT guilty and…. ( now he gets rather irritated )… why are we talking about Misha? It's about you and Piya!

Abhay ( gives him a vampire look )- You started talking about Misha.

Sambhav ( curses himself inside )- Forget Misha, Forget this madness and cowardice of yours and come with me. You cannot just get up and run away like this, Abhay! ….How is Piya going to deal with this? She is half insane already and your visit may calm her nerves but not her unruly heart. Don't be selfish.

Abhay ( depressed )- If I go back to her …. Now…. I will never be able to leave her , Sam. And that means THE END for her.

Sambhav ( feels bad for Abhay )- Maybe Dead Piya With Her Hottie Vampie AND Definitely Dead Piya Minus Her Hottie Vampie…. Which one is better , tell me!

Abhay understands Sambhav's point but the emotional weight and his inner turmoil doesn't let him think anything straight. Abhay gets up in irritation.

Abhay ( angrily )- Get lost, Sam! What do you think, anyway? That am a fool who can't see through your Agony Uncle shenanigans? It is not about Piya or me . It is about your own selfish motive! You'd be the happiest if me and Piya got together but for all the dastardly reasons!

Sambhav looks at Abhay for a few seconds and then, gets down from the tomb , leaving the aluminum flask. His face hardens and he faces Abhay , putting his hands on Abhay's shoulders who just glares back at him.

Sambhav ( shrugs his shoulders )- Look Abhay. I am not refuting anything of what you just said. Yes, I am going to kill you one day , no matter who or what I have to sacrifice to reach you. It is true that I am a totally badass predator on the loose who can burn the world to protect the ones he is responsible for…. But…. ( shakes his head )…. For a few minutes today , I only thought of Piya and her desperation to have you back. I cannot forget her face when I returned to the guesthouse this morning.

Abhay ( reads him )- You are astounded by the strength of human emotion. Aren't you? Or should I say astounded by what love can do to people? ….Scary , isn't it?

Sambhav ( a small smile )- I won't lie to you in that regard… you catch lies anyway , hmmm? Yes, I am astounded because…. Because I have never seen anyone so irrevocably in love with someone( thinks of Piya )…. Or someone so strongly hating someone( thinks of Misha).

Abhay – Misha will come around, sometime. It is a shock to her and that too a big one.

Sambhav ( makes a face )- Misha? Who is talking about Misha?

Abhay –You.

Sambhav – Come back, Abhay. It is better to face the future with Piya than to leave her alone to go insane and die while you starve yourself to death.

Abhay looks taken aback at this and removes Sam's hands from his shoulders.

Abhay ( looks away )- I am not starving myself .

Sambhav ( touches Abhay's forehead )- Skin draining out and veins drying up. You are trying to kill yourself. Anyone who knows the kindergarten of vampires can tell.

Abhay ( doesn't look at him )- Go away…. I am not coming with you. Piya needs to reconcile herself with the truth . She will eventually understand. I can read her and….( closes his eyes)….. she is fine…. Appears fine. Her fits and hysteria are over and she is talking to Misha. She will be fine, just fine.

Sambhav can see that Abhay is too rigid and scared at this moment. He steps back and turns on his heels to leave…..

Abhay ( calls out to him )- Your flask! Take it and tell Piya that Abhay is not coming back… she… she will deal with it.

Sambhav ( looks back at him )- That flask is for you. I don't want you to starve to death…drink it or else I get your clan here. You are too precious to die and you know that…. And…. As for Piya… you are underestimating her, Abhay. You really are…….

Without another word, Sambhav walks away from the tomb , leaving Abhay more restless than ever.

Social Activity Camp, Marwaa

In the pretty and picturesque village of Marwaa, the social education camp has been set up. While Kabir and Angad are counseling the men of the village and explaining to them , the inhumanity and ills of domestic violence , Anushka is talking to a group of women under a tree. She looks well and glowing now – her skin glimmering in the sun and like always attracting Kabir's attention. Kabir is talking to the men but his eyes go as deep as the ocean as they linger at the stunningly beautiful woman with a peach complexion , almond cognac eyes , a picture perfect rose bud mouth and those hands…. Sculpted to perfection. Anushka is conscious of Kabir watching her but she doesn't look at him lest he notices the cherry blush on her cheeks from a distance of few meters.

Anushka ( addressing the group )- So, don't think that just because you are married or a woman ,anyone has the right to abuse you. Abuse is not just physical – it is psychological and emotional as well. Raise a voice against it – there is a police station , NGO branches here and they will help you. If you give in to the violence , you are creating monsters out of….

Just then, her cellphone rings and she pulls it out of her pocket. It is an unknown number but thinking that it might be important , she smiles at the women and excuses herself to take the call. Kabir sees her go to a side and narrows his eyebrows in confusion as Angad distributes pamphlets to the villager men.

Angad ( jokes )- Don't gaze so much at her. Agreed , she is stunningly beautiful but all this gazing is going to cast an evil eye on her.

Kabir ( blushes and changes the subject )- Yeah, right. Where is this Natasha anyway?

Angad laughs and shrugs his shoulders.

On the other hand , Anushka takes the call and the voice on the other end shocks her.

Maithli ( sings )- Boooooooooooooooo! Howdy witchilicious?

Anushka ( stunned and angry – Maithli! How dare you? What in the world drove you to call me up?

Maithli ( laughs )- Come deeper into the woods , Anushka. We need to talk and like, talk right now!

Anushka ( rolls her eyes )- Talk to you? Are you mad?

Maithli – Yep. You and I , We need to negotiate about something very important….NOW!

Anushka ( sounds bored )- Negotiate? Haha. About what? Abhay and Piya, I am sure. Well, let me remind you that there is nothing to negotiate on that account. Abhay hates you and will sink his fangs into your neck the next time that he sees you. Piya is beyond your catch forever because I have shielded her. So, get lost!

Maithli ( in a warning and dangerous tone )- It is not about Abhay-Piya, It's about you. …Don't you think Piya's survival kind of depends on you, hmmm?

Hearing that, Anushka looks alarmed and her eyes look disturbed.

Anushka ( taking in a deep breath )- Where are you?

Maithli laughs. It was such fun to have a powerful witch like Anushka right under your thumb.

Deep in the woods, Marwaa

As Anushka comes deeper in the woods , drawn and guided by Maithli's voice , echoing in the woods. And just then, Anushka spots her……Shrouded in a black dress , a sweeping black shroud covering her head and those dark tiger eyes glaring at her with a small smile on her face. Anushka walks towards her and her inner voice is telling her that something is up with Maithli. There is this look of….something on that fair face of hers…..

Anushka ( approaching her )- What…. What is up with you? Why have you called me here?....And why are you looking at me like that? Maithli?

Maithli ( walks closer to her with a smile )- I have a surprise for you.

Anushka raises her eyebrows and in one dramatic moment , Maithli removes her shroud and holds up a basket of red chilies onto her face. Anushka screams and falls back.

Anushka ( horrified )- ARE YOU CRAZY??????????....Keep them away from me! AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maithli ( grins )- Guess you should have treated that mistress of spices well , eh?

Anushka is paralyzed with shock when he hears Maithli say those words and scare her with the red spices. That BITCH! Natasha! She…she…. Anushka's senses were going for a toss as she saw Maithli raise her hand and stepping back , leans against a tree.

Maithli ( reading her face)- What did you think, Anushka? Natasha is getting the secret out of you to write in her posh pink diary, hmmmm?

Anushka ( still terrified at the sight of the spices )- K-Keep them away from me.

Maithli ( smiles )- I am. But only as long as you do what I want.

Anushka ( narrowing her eyebrows )- What?

Maithli ( smelling the spices )- Sharp and deadly. Aren't they? They could burn you in flat two minutes and you'd be history….

Anushka shoots her an angry look and a tree branch falls on Maithli , throwing the chilies off her hand and on to the ground, Even before Maithli can do anything, Anushka growls and grabs Maithli's neck , pinning her to the tree making the twigs cut into her skin.

Anushka ( violently )- Blackmailing Anushka is not such a good idea after all! …HOW DARE YOU! Don't you know what I am capable of!

Maithli ( all her power failing against Anushka's strength )- I know! That is why I am,… ( tries to loosen Anushka's grip around her neck )… I am blackmailing you! What do you think , Anushka? Killing me is going to save you? It's not! Natasha will get twenty people to kill you with spice curse! How many are you going to stop! ….ANYONE WHO KNOWS YOUR SECRET CAN GET TO YOU NOW!

Anushka realizes the truth and harsh reality of Maithli's words and she lets her go , throwing her on the ground with full force.

Anushka ( screams )- I am ready to burn and die but am not going to do anything to Piya! Or Abhay! Go ahead! I don't give a damn about it!

Maithli ( getting up )- Don't be stupid, Anushka. If you burn and die, what is going to become of Piya and the so called Shield?

The look of a fiend in Maithli's eyes brings Anushka to the crashing realization- DAMN! NO! Anushka couldn't die! If she dies, Piya dies . Anushka had transmitted her powers to the shield that Piya wore. Her powers were protecting Piya. And if Anushka dissolved , Piya would be killed by anyone and everyone within seconds! Anushka was the invincible supernatural protection of Piya against all human and superhuman dangers. Anushka's head was reeling in shock and the flurry of thoughts making her dizzy. She falls on her knees , cupping her mouth .

Maithli ( bends down and pats Anushka's head)- I have an option for you where at least your darling Piya can live.

Anushka looks up at Maithli's face in immense hatred and disgust.

Maithli ( her face glowing with victiory )- You just have to do me a small favour….( lips curl evilly )….Manipulate Abhay's memory……

Anushka ( alarmed )- What… what do you mean?

Maithli ( darkly )- Erase Piya and her memories from Abhay's mind. Give him a fake memory that YOU will build and I will dictate!

Anushka ( horrified )- You want me to make Abhay forget that he ever knew Piya?

Maithli ( nods devilishly )- Not exactly. I just want him to forget that he ever loved Piya. Let's say , witchy, you are going to brainwash Abhay and plant the memory that I want! A fake memory of a life that NEVER happened with him.
