The Dobriyaals left the party.
Kabir chose to be there for his distressed brother Danzie and took him home.
An inebriated Piya was in Misha's care but Tracker distracted her and Piya stepped into the shadows.
And there you had Piya Jaiswal - a typical babe-in-the-woods but you could excuse her damsel in distress act without groaning because she did not go into the woods for an evening walk to become an appetizer for vampires. She was drunk . She was vulnerable and the second Piya is in trouble or even 'v' of vulnerable , Abhay has to find her - he has to be there - he is connected to her , and it makes no difference how much he hates himself for that. He cannot help it. It is not in his nature to allow even an abrasive gust of wind touch Piya's body. And he came..... because no matter where he was ... in the party or on the terrace planning to make cheesecakes out of T....He senses Piya's trouble.
And there you had Piya look up at Abhay's worried but stern face with eyes brightened by the impact of the drug and a luminous smile which seemed to say " See, am again in trouble. I oughta be called Piya Duh-uh Jaiswal"......And her genuine regard , fascination and affection for Abhay came out when she told him that he was her hero and it is funny and ironic in a way how he comes to her aid when she is about to fall. Abhay said nothing - his face gave away no emotion. And gathering her up in his arms like a flower , he walked away into the moonlight as though he could carry her to the end of the world.
Piya's biggest problem is her vulnerability. She has had no emotional backing and there is nothing to fall back on except memories of her mother's warmth and her beautiful smile. Now, you will say , heck no! She has got the Dobriyals and Kabir. Yes, she has but that is NOW. Her childhood , her teens , and now her early youth have had no blanket and that is why you see on Piya's face what she doesn't have inside - happiness. She was never loved - never nurtured - never wanted and never told that she was a princess which every girl should be told. .... and today , when Abhay , a supposedly cold man has saved her from clear and present danger , many times - he has touched that little lonely Piya who is seeing her childhood dreams of heroism , protection and fairytales in Abhay taking shape..... And no, Piya doesn't like it. She hates Abhay's arrogance and condescending behaviour towards her , she wants to hate him ....but the same Piya forgets her lines when she looks into his eyes.... the same Piya feels conscious and exposed when Abhay invades her personal space and the same Piya gives Abhay a big smile in her drunken state and tells him that he is her hero......
Poignant if you look at it , in a way. They make a beautiful picture but behind this beauty lies an agony an impossibility of a love that is FORBIDDEN.
Abhay-Piya are not everybody;s couple and if their rhythm doesn't match with your emotional wavelength , you cannot like them, no matter how hard you try. I , for one, love AP because they are the stuff sagas are made of and the play of dark and light in this story is touching.
BTW, Abhay told Piya something very profound today - When you ask for something , you should be careful because often it is granted and then, it is difficult to deal with. Piya had asked for love but what she is getting is a dark knight and not a prince charming on a white horse.....
P.S- SFX GUYS! Kya kar rahe ho? The play of light and dark was badly done in places and was spoiling good scenes. Ekta , increase the budget and get better people for SFX.
