btw as expected and as few of us discussed in EDT 2, that Sat 20th Aug 4.30 to 7.30 pm marathon Janmastami event hosted by RM family confused most regular 8pm RM viewers, and neither could attract many non RM viewers. (yes there were repeat telecasts on Sun 21st Aug, but many Zee viewers weren't aware of timings in advance.)
This must be a lesson for the channel too how not to waste time & budgets. (yeah they may have got ad sponsors, but for next such festival event, these brands may back off seeing poor response plus odd timings.) On a working day 4.30 to 7.30 pm at a stretch, how much can one sustain TV audience interest with such predictable & overused plot of some hidden villain blackmailing a lead to kill a VIP by kidnapping leads relative, in between songs & dances? and again using same child Gungun for all tortures? What was channels team even smelling?
When such high voltage, emotional, well promoted Mohan's child Gungun stuck in bore-well sequence was still going on in RM (which is relatively still a new show for Zee) Janmastami promos & media coverage with happy, smiling Gungun from same RM, could have been avoided or channel could have asked LSD team to finish entire rescue episodes, much before 20th Aug.
