seriously? How do I even summarize all of that? You can start by reading up about the Broca's area responsible for speech production, and Wenicke's area responsible for speech comprehension, both are only hypothetical taken from studies done on brains of people injured in those areas. Then of course there's the ongoing debate about language being behavioral versus innate... A lot of linguists have engaged in that but the most notable names are B.F. Skinner (behavior) and Noam Chomsky (innate). I personally think it's a combination of both. And then there have been studies done on how language works via studies of speech errors... I can go on and on and still not tell you anything. But we can engage in talk if you read a little about it 😃
