Tess, there is this movie coming on TV right now, titled "Yeh Vada Raha (Its A Promise)". I wish either you or Bee should write a story on it.

It's about two lovers, the boy is rich and the girl is poor.

Let me use AarYa's names.

Yash is a rich boy who falls in love with Aarti who is orphan and poor. Yash's mother doesn't approve of her as she is as rich and famous lady.

They decide to get married and then meet with an accident,

(I missed a part in between so I'm not sure if they actually got married and if the mother is responsible for the accident).

Aarti's face is completely ruined. She needs plastic surgery and new face. Gayatri comes to meet her and taunts her that since her face is ruined Yash won't accept her. Even if he accepts her, would she want to ruin his life? So poor Aarti is left all alone.

Yash is told that Aarti died in the accident.

Here Dr, Satyendra gives Aarti a new face. He also don't have any family so he makes Aarti his daughter and gives her new name, Arpita.

Later Yash meets Arpita. He doesn't recognize her but when he hears her voice he is stunned as it is Aarti's voice.

I have yet to watch the rest of the movie but it looks interesting

Sounds like the storyline for the Promise. Don;t know the Hindi name. When Bani Walia had "died" but had plastic surgery and the doctor then became her father

Tes I can't write it as I already have so many stories.

Bee, this movie is from 1982 (I just saw it in synopsis).

Aarti/ Arpita is so in love with him and her heart is breaking when she comes in front of him. He has sort of stopped living and it makes it all the more difficult for her to see him like this. The day she sees him, his mother is getting him engaged to a girl of her choice. But she know his mother won't approve of her so she keeps. So she decides to keep mum. When Satyendra says that he will go ans tell Yash about Aarti she stops him as Gayatri won't approve of her.
