Superb update. This Yash surely has the emotional intelligence of a rock. It's really a sad turn of events for Aarti. I hope she will do well on her own, and this embarrassment of a man will live to regret his actions dearly.

Chapter 3

He was staring at the tiny little baby and instantly knew what love was. This was his son. He put out his hand and the baby grabbed it. He smiled. He didn't even know what his name was. He was just a week old. He picked him up and was a bit nervous as he was so fragile. His made a gurgling sound and moved his head. And to think he wanted to give this up. It was ironic he thought that he is visiting his child in an orphanage, when it was exactly where he told his mother that she would put him. Only she didn't leave him there, she was living there with him.

He thought back to how he got here. He answered his office phone and a voice he did not recognize told him. "Mr. Scindiya. My name is Shoba Dubey. You don't know me but I just thought that you would like to know that you have a son. If you are interested to see him you can come to the Bhopal Childrens Home. Oh, and Aarti does not know I am calling you. I hope to see you there. Good bye, Mr. Scindiya."

Shoba has found out quite by accident who Aarti's child's father was. Some of her teenage wards were going through a magazine and had come upon a picture of a stunning individual. It was on article on the dynamic business man Yash Scindiya that was in line to take over the family business. Since he has been involved in the company their profits had soared already. The girls were drooling over him.

"Look Aarti -di, isn't he gorgeous. Do you know him? Is this not the company that you worked for?"

"Yes, I knew him, she said" But the look on her face and the moist eyes that she tried to hide from the girls as she walked back to her room did not go unnoticed by Shoba. She knew Aarti too well.

Yash sat there for a while after the call. There was no question as to what he was going to do. He took out the 8 week scan pic that he had kept with him all this time and sometimes looked at in these 7 months. He had often found himself thinking of her. What she was doing and how the pregnancy was going. He had gone back the hostel once but she no longer lived there and there was no forwarding address.

He was still holding his son and staring at him adoringly when he heard a breaking glass. She was at the door of the room and staring at him in astonishment. How was he here? How did he know where to find them? Was this one of those dreams that she sometimes had where he comes for them and says he wants them to be a family.

"Hello Aarti." she was dressed and tights and an oversized t-shirt. No makeup and her hair in a messy ponytail, but it seemed that she was more beautiful than he remembered. But she looked tired.

She didn't reply. She just looked at him.

"How are you?"

Finally she came too. She bent down to pick up the broken glass from the floor. Her hands shaking. She felt exposed. She looked terrible. Her hair was a mess and she was wearing he oldest clothes just to be comfortable. She was tired as she had been up most of the night with the baby. But why did she worry how she looked for this man?

"No you leave that I will do it. You speak to Yashji" it was Shoba ma.

She went to him and took the baby out his arms.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to see the baby."

"How did you know?"

"Shoba aunty called me."

Aarti was flabbergasted. She had no idea that Shoba-ma knew who the child's father was.

"What do you want Mr.Scindiya. I asked you to leave us alone."

"I want to be part of my son's life"

She put the baby back in the cot.

"Your son? Your son? His name his Ansh Dubey? He is no relation to you."

"He is my blood Aarti. As much as you want to deny it, I am his father."

"And when did you all of a sudden realise this. Between suggesting an abortion and offering to pay me off? No you don't get to decide whether you want to be a father or not. And being a sperm donor does not make you a father."

"I was wrong. I realised my mistake. I am ready to be a father. And my son cannot live here."

"Excuse me. Where have you been all the time that I was carrying him? Where were you when I was giving birth to him? Probably with one of your bimbos. You don't get to decide where my son stays. What did you have in mind anyway? That we stay with you?'

Then she suddenly had an alarming thought.

"Have you come to take my baby away? Is that why are here? If you think I am going to let you do that Yash Scindiya, you have another think coming! I will never allow it!"

"Aarti relax. I am not going to take him away from you."

"Then what?"

"I don't know."

"I have an apartment..."

"No. I am not living in your apartment"

"I don't live there. I live at home."

"I don't care. I am not going to let the world think I am a kept woman"

"We can get married"

"You are joking right. I will never marry you. Besides marriage would cramp your style. Or are you still planning to be married and still continue dating"

That jab hurt more than he had cared to admit.

"Please just leave sir. I can take care of my baby. Soon I will be able to work again and then I can find a place for us."

"Aarti stop it. I will take care of my child. If you continue to be stubborn then I will take the baby from you. And don't you think that we are past the Mr and sir considering our relationship has progressed so much that we created a baby"

"A one night stand cannot be defined as a relationship. And you wouldn't dare to take my child away!"

"Try me!"

Anger and frustration were taking over their emotions. They were staring each other down.

"Aarti, Yashji. This is not helping anyone. There must surely be a compromise." Shoba ma had come into the room without them knowing.

"I might have a different option. You can stay with Radha-ma. Our old nanny. She lives on her own. She would like the company and she can help you with the baby"

"I can take care of my own baby" Aarti was not enthusiastic about living with this Rhada ma. If her ward turned out like him, what hope was there for her son?

"Aarti, please be reasonable. Just go and meet Rhadaji. You might like her."

"Ok, Ma"

Aarti was pleasantly surprised to see Rhada's house. It felt like a home. There was love there. And Rhada herself was a lovely woman. The two ladies instantly hit it off. She clearly loved Yash. She was overjoyed to see his son. And she did not judge Aarti for having a child out of wedlock. She just accepted her for who she was. She was widowed when she was still very young and never got married again. She took a position of nanny at the Scindiya's as she did not have any children. She loved those children like her own. This was a wonderful home to raise a child.

"Aah, Aarti he is just gorgeous. He looks exactly like my Yash when he was a baby. I hope he won't be so naughty though" he giggled.

Rhadha loved all the Scindiya children but Yash had a special place in her heart. He had been her only confidante since he was a child. The only woman he ever trusted. The only constant in his life since he was a baby. She knew exactly why he was the way he was. His big generous heart was overshadowed by the hurt of his past. She had often tried to talk to him and convince him to change his ways but in this one thing he never listened to her. She knew when things changed for him. When Aarti came into his life. But she only listened when he spoke about her. When he told her how he had made a mistake by sleeping with an employee, then that she was pregnant and he could especially see how affected he was when she disappeared out of his life. She was so happy when he came to her and told her that he found Aarti and his son and asked her if they could live with her. Of course she would never say no. She knew that he was entrusting his family to her. Not just his son. She could not wait for him to realise it too.

When Aarti had finally moved into Rhada-ma's house she found that the room she was to stay was made up beautifully. Everything was perfect for her and Ansh.

"Rhada aunty, did you do this. It is lovely."

"No my dear. It was Yash. And call me ma."

She was shocked that he would do this.

Rhada and Aarti slipped into a comfortable routine as the months went by. She felt like as much a mother as Shoba ma. Yash visited Ansh almost every day after work. And the little peanut loved his daddy. When he heard his daddy's voice and saw him he would smile and his arms and legs would flail like crazy. And when Yash travelled, the little master was quite cranky. They would often have to have a skype chat with Yash just to settle him down for the night.

Aarti tried to stay out of his way as much as possible when he visited Ansh. She didn't like to see him with his son. It just made her heart melt and she couldn't afford that. They had an amicable truce. Ma would often tell her stories of Yash as a child and she couldn't marry the person that Ma spoke of with the person that she knew. The stories made him sound almost human. None the less this was her life now. And she had finally found a job. She was working part time for a small interior design company. In fact it was just her and her boss Amaan Khanna. He was a great boss and a wonderful person. He knew her situation, although Ma was quite happy and capable of looking after Ansh, she did not want to impose too much.

Yash was not happy about this. Why did she have to work? He was capable of supporting them. He always gave Rhada ma an allowance but since Aarti moved in he had increased it. Aarti would not accept money from him so he would just buy things for Ansh. She would not accept anything from him for her personally. His lifestyle had changed so much. Instead of going on dates, he now went to visit his son at night. He loved spending time with him. He would go immediately after work and stay there until he was asleep. Aarti normally disappeared when he arrived. When they did speak it was only about Ansh. He had heard her talk over the phone with her boss and she laughed with him like she used to laugh before the Mumbai incident. He had found out everything about this man. He was a year older than Aarti and has just started his own company and he needed someone to assist in designs and to do admin. He was not an unattractive man and this bothered Yash. But it was only because her being in a relationship could cause problems with Ansh, he tried to convince himself.

His family knew about his son. He made no secret of the fact but his parents had refused to acknowledge an illegitimate child in there fold. He didn't care. He made sure that they knew that Ansh would be his heir and that is why he has insisted that his name be Ansh Yash Scindiya despite the fact they were not married. That battle Aarti did not win. He was the eldest. His brother Prateek and sister Palak would come and visit Ansh with him on the weekends sometimes. They got along very well with Aarti. She even had shopping and movie dates with Palak. It seemed that he was the only person in the world that she disliked. His siblings had taken to calling her bhabi. And he had to admit that he liked that. She tried to stop them but had eventually gave up.

"Come on bhabi, we have to give our baby a first birthday party. How can the first family of event planning not have a party for their only grand-child" Paridhi and Prateek also did not care for Ansh's birth status. They loved their Ansh.

"Palak, who would we invite. I don't know anybody."

"We can invite the children at the orphanage. I'm sure bhayia has some friends he would like to invite. We just have to do this. I will speak to my brother. He will agree." And he did.

The party was in full swing. All the toddlers from the orphanage were invited. Yash had even invited some of his friends. They were very impressed with Aarti. She had worn a saree for the occasion. She looked so beautiful. He was proud of her. Proud to introduce her to his friends. Although she was very shy and a bit embarrassed to meet them. He was enjoying himself until he saw Aaman arrive.

She was pleased that Aaman could come. Besides Palak and Prateek, he was her only friend. When she was not busy she spent to most her time talking to him. He had a great sense of humour and always made her laugh. Today was no different. She had no idea that they were being watch all the time with angry eyes.

The party was over and all the guest has left. Luckily Yash had his staff clear up everything but she was still tired and ready for bed. She was making her way from the kitchen, putting the lights off, when she suddenly grabbed by the arm.

"What the hell is going on between you and Khanna?" he said in a furious whisper.

She hadn't even realised her was still there.

"Let me go"

"Tell me. Are you sleeping with him?"

"He is my boss"

"Exactly. It's nothing that you haven't done before!"

She wanted to slap him but he caught her hand in mid-air. Holding on to it so tightly that it hurt. They both stared at each other. Their eyes locked in pure anger. She was breathing heavily. He noticed that. He noticed how her breasts were moving up and down, bringing to the fore the feelings he had been trying to bury for so long. He pulled her to him with the hand that he was holding and put the other hand at the back of her head and brought her in for a hard punishing kiss.

She didn't want this. She tried to get out of his hold. But before she knew it she was responding. The kiss changed from punishing to passionate. He let go of her arm and she put both arms around his neck. His hands were around her back. It slid down to cup her bottom and to push her into him. She could feel the effect that she had him. She gasped. His mouth moved down to her neck and she moaned. Her hands moved to his head. Her fingers going through his gorgeous silky hair. She loved his hair. She loved his kisses. He moved her pallu to get better access to her beautiful neck, his mouth making its way to its desired destination, her heaving breasts.

"Aarti. Aarti! Where are you? Ansh is calling for you." it was Rhada ma.

She cleared her throat.

"Coming Ma" her voice still very shaky.

He let her go.

"We are not finished here Aarti." he said and left the dark house quietly.

This one surely was an intense chapter!
I think Yash should be clear about his own feelings,
and Aarti shouldn't melt to easily, let him suffer for some while

Holding the little Angel was enough to transform his father's perception of fatherhood. I am glad that Ansh has the love of both his parents. Waiting eagerly to see how Aarti will react to the transformed Yash.
