Chapter 4
Sorry guys - a short chapter this time. Got busy at work today. I'll write up a longer one on the next one.
Yash met with his client. Dr. Shankar had land he had inherited from his father in Hyderabad. He wanted to construct a outhouse there and open it for events and business. This was a double deal for the Scindias. They can not only manage the construction and design of the outhouse, but also plan the events. This is a big account to win, thought Yash as he was wrapping up his conversation with him.
"So sir, I will come up with some designs for you, based on what you told me. I also need to travel to Hyderabad to look at the site so I can see the surroundings and make sure the designs we come up with will look good in the location also". Dr. Shankar was pleased with Yash's detailed explanation. "No hurry Yash. We can plan this at leisure...so come up with some designs...I will also like to go with you to the site. But my calendar is crazy. It needs to be after 6 months." "That will work perfect for me also sir, I need to visit Hyderabad to drop off my younger brother at the Culinary Institute".
Yash bid goodbye and went home pleased with the evening's meeting. Upon reaching home, he went to take a shower. As the warm water hit his muscular body, his thoughts wandered at the mysterious encounter from dinner. He could still feel the sandalwood fragrance and closed his eyes trying to recollect and get any clues about the girl he ran into...all he could remember was her sweet and surprised voice...with a sigh, he got into bed and fell asleep.
Aarti and Mansi continued with their daily routine, often interrupted by Aman. Aakash was a reluctant participant all the time.
Days became weeks, weeks became months...soon it was almost 6 months into first year of college for Aarti. By now, she, Aman, Aakash and Mansi had become a tight group of friends. Aman and Aarti were pretty close. They had fun pulling each other's leg and helping out each other.
One day at lunch, Aman said..."Yaar Aarti, I wish you had joined college 2 years early, we would had more time with each other. I am in third year now, and next year is the last year and then I graduate. I'll miss you!" and he spouted his lips like a small boy. At this, Aarti suddenly felt sad. She did not realize when, but she was so comfortable and close to Aman. She looked away and sadly said..."I know. I'll miss you too". Aman had come close to her. Put his arm around her shoulders, and said..."hey, we'll still be in touch right?"...to this, Aarti slightly smiled and nodded her head. "You are a sweetheart, did you know that?" said Aman softly.
Mansi and Aakash looked at each other and did not know what to say. Aakash broke the awkward silence and said..."Hey Aman, can you come here for a second, I need to ask you something about next week's game.."..."Abhey kya re, accha sa scene ko you are distracting..."and he went with Aakash grumpily.
"Aman, tell me seriously. Do you like Aarti?"
