When I first started watching the first few episodes of PV, I didn't really enjoy it because the tone was a bit depressing. Then the suhaagrat scene happened and I was hooked. Wow.. I thought, this show is unique and different. The cast was outstanding and so natural whereby before this I was used to seeing only OTT expressions.

Although the journey is short , I'm quite satisfied with PV's journey and glad that the story hasn't followed the usual ghissa phissa stories like memory loss, look- alikes, separation, stupid misunderstandings & etc. Hopefully we get to see better quality dramas on Indian TV. Quality should matter above quantity.

this is exactly what my friends have been discussing: that even if the show is saas-bahu, it should not be regressive in content but at least PV proved a difference to the usual meek and humble tyoe of heroine that dominated Hindi serials..😳
And they were really on to the heroine change of exploring the introduction of strong female roles but there's a conservatism air on this aspect for now, i feel..

Well said Sdaren.

It is a pity that people see gunghats and pallus and kitchen and immediately typecast a show saying that it is saas bahu and not worth watching. What a shame and what a pity. So what if it saas bahu? It is the content that matters not the outside appearance. PV was exceptional in that. Behind the facade of sari clad bahus they dealt with regressive thinking and showed an alternative more progressive way of looking at things.

There is this misconception that only if they show a woman dressed in western clothes or she has a job or she speaks English is she considered progressive and maybe same with men too. Is that what defines progressiveness, I have often wondered? Shouldn't it be the thought process instead of the outside trappings that should define the concept of progressive thinking? To me, that is where PV was such a path breaking show. Aarti was the sari clad, gunghat wearing bahu but she fought against regressiveness and brought about a change among the elders of the Scindiya house. Similarly, Yash was the good son of the family yet he fought to bring about changes in his family's way of thinking too. It is unfortunate that today's viewers think that yelling, or walking out or giving tit for tat is what defines strength in a character. To me, Yash and Aarti, especially when they worked together as a team, was one of the most courageous and strong characters shown in a long time on our Indian TV. They never lost their integrity and always stood for change and succeeded to which is amazing considering the very patriarchally dominated and conservative family they came from.

Evolution always takes time. So here is hoping that more shows like PV come on TV and people can get away from stereotypes and biases and give such shows a chance with open minds. I am so proud that Kratika and Gurmeet picked this show. 😳
