Zee TV's prime time show is all set to go off air by June this year, or so the rumours suggest

The producers of Punar Vivah, starring Gurmeet Chaudhary and Kratika Sengar, are all set to pull the plug on this one due to creative differences between the lead actor and producer Sumeet Mittal. However, both Gurmeet and Sumeet insist that things are perfectly cordial and there was never an issue. Wouldn't we all like to believe just that?

Rumour mills in the television industry claim that Gurmeet signed Nach Baliye Shriman vs Shrimati without consulting the producers of Punar Vivah, which created problems for the show's entire cast and crew. The team had already adjusted their timings and schedules once when Gurmeet was a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa; doing it again apparently created a lot of unrest among the other cast members. Secondly, Gurmeet has been simultaneously shooting for his Punjabi film, which will hit the theatres soon.

Between reality shows and his movie, Gurmeet is clearly unable to give time for Punar Vivah, and being the face of the show, it's difficult to phase out the character – not that the makers didn't consider it. Among other things, the show is also dying a natural death as the makers can't play around with the theme of remarriage any longer without making it redundant. The producer claims that the channel hasn't given any word on taking the show off air, but then again there is no smoke without fire, right?

This week the show received 1.4 ratings which is a further drop from last week's 1.7, and at this rate we wouldn't be too surprised if the channel decides to end the show. What do you think BollywoodLifers, should the makers end Punar Vivah?
