I am shocked about the TRPs ! And disappointed! This is like getting a bad appraisal even though I am not the one being assessed! Here are my thoughts abt the TRP numbers...
Implication of the TRPs
If the numbers are true, then the producers will definitely reflect on the episodes for the past few weeks to see where they could have improved...and we can look forward to better (?) episodes in the future! This is like them getting an appraisal from the viewers if they are performing up to expectation and apparently they are not! So now, they have to work on their weaknesses and improve...This is actually a good thing for the viewers! Maybe we can also give them feedbacks through official channels...their official FB or Zee Channel webpage.
Accuracy of TRPs
TRP merely capture the results of a certain sample size and it is never representative of the whole population...So depending on how they sample the population, there is always the element of bias. Moreover, with the implementation of digitalization in India, there could errors in capturing the data because there is bound to be glitches when you first implement a new system. So let's see if they will release any statement regarding errors and revise the TRP results.
And if the numbers are not even audited, then I am not sure how accurate the numbers are. Unfortunately, these are the numbers that are being used to measure how well a show is performing. So guess we have to accept it but with a skeptical mind... it is always easy to accept a flawed system when we are doing well and rant about it when we are performing not so well!
Future TRPs
Anyway, even if the TRPs are bad currently, it does not mean that it will always be! We have followed PV's journey through its ups and down but we have always stood by it...We have hit rock bottom (I hope) now and the only way we can go is up! So hopefully we will see better TRP next week...The climb up the ladder will be slow but hey - life is a journey and not a race...We cannot expect improvements overnight as they have only gotten the feedback today and must have certain tracks lined up...So they will need time to reassess what to do!
And the information of TRPs that are published are history...there is nothing that you can do with history except to learn from them!
