Handcuff Symbolism

handcuffs are made of metal, and while they transfer heat and energy they are still lifeless and cold. I feel like this the perfect symbolism of two individuals, aarti and particularly, yash. they both are barren individuals whole merely live and breathe for others in their life, but not for themselves. they are not in tune with their emotions, and instead live each day to move onto the next. slightly lifeless while still alive. they prefer their personal lives to be aloof and unattached while still providing joy to their family. is it from mere duty/obligation/responsibility, who knows?

also, i liked the figurative and literal meaning of aarti & yash connected by the handcuffs. It's like they had to be made aware of each other, if one tugged the other followed & vice versa. at this point, aarti is far more aware of yash's presence than he is of her's. in fact, if the point comes where yash may get separated from aarti (bc her truth comes to light or for another factor) than i think that's when he will have to evaluate what he really feels for her since he seems to be more emotionally disattached. he needs to be made of aware of a situation (the handcuff scenario is a good example. he, blindly, just moves forward disregarding that his arm is tied now to aarti's. he is simply just to aloof and unaware of his surroundings & people).
