Anyways.. enough of my bakwaas n here u go.
Kahi baar hum logon ko galat samjhte hai.. ya fir samajh hi nahi paathe. Tab yeh aakhon ki bhaasha humari madad karti hai. Ab aapko lag raha hoga- ki bhai, aankon mein dekh kar koi kaise unke bhaavnaaon ko samjh sakta hai. Uskeliye aap ko dil se sochna hoga, gor se dekhna hoga.. aur un aankhon k peeche k emotions ko samajhna hoga..
'God! Kya bakwaas hai yeh?' he groaned but a thought struck him and he began to listen closely.
For example.. agar woh aakhein jhuk jaaye toh samajhlijiye ki woh sharmaa rahi hai. Agar bade hogaye aur gussa nazar aaya toh samajh lijiye aap ki baat unko pasand nahi. Agar muskuraakar aankhein bade kardi toh.. aap ki ghusarish unko qubool hai. Aisi aankhon k baare mein kehte jaaye toh yeh programme kabhi khatm nahi hoga. Hume izaazat dijiye. Lekin jaate jaate ek baat yaad rakhiye- jab bhi kisi se baat kar rahe ho, ya kisi pe shak kar rahe ho, un pe apna gussa uthaarne se pehle ek nazar unki aankhon par daaliye.. kyun ki insaan sacchayi chupa sakte hai, lekin unki aankhein sab bayaan kar hi deti hai. Toh, tata good night- Khudafiz- shabba-
He turned off the tv in a hurry. He just dint want to miss another minute of his sleep just because of some stupid programe. Kuch bhi kehte hai tv wale.. aankhon ki bhaasha. My foot.
Switching off the lights in living room, he went straight to his bedroom to find Sarita and Abhi sleeping on the bed. He checked his watch. 11:45 PM. He needed to sleep ASAP. He quickly climbed on to his side of the bed and dozed off into deep slumber.
Next morning:
'Desi breakfast? Paranthe, Dum Aloo, Kheer.. yeh kya hai?' Vikrant was in foul mood visibly.
'Woh memsaab ne banaaya yeh sab..' the cook answered him.
'Ek baar kaha na ki mujhe aisa khaana pasand nahi hai! Fir..'
'Woh mujhe lagaa aap ko.. roz aap corn flakes aur fruits hi lete ho toh.. aaj kuch different'
He just couldn't believe she was talking like a typical wife. Those words were coming from her heart or it's just another drama?
Aakhon ki bhaasaha-
'Main apni zindgi apne hisaab se jeetha hu, aur main roz roz rang nahi badalta tumhari tarah...'
Hurt flashes in her eyes. He could feel how his words hit her. Her eyes had become moist.. Darn! Stupid tv show! He shouldn't have watched that. He began feeling guilty for hurting her that too before Abhi.
'I'm sorry Mr. Suryavanshi. Aage se aisa kuch nahi karungi. Mujhe sach mein lagaa yeh sab Aapk- Abhi ko accha lagega...'
'No its ok. Sorry bolne ki zarurat nahi!'
Her eyes were surprised. Obviously she did not see that coming from him. She smiled a bit looking at him keenly. And what does she want now?
'Memsaab ne subah se sab kuch banaaya akele.. sach mein sab ithni aachi khushbu aarahi hai..'
Vikrant feels bad for insulting her in front of the cook and asks him to leave.
'Daddy khaalo na please! Corn flakes ki packet khatm hogai aur ghar pe fruits nahi hai..' Abhi requested him.
'Warna bhuke reh jayenge aap k Daddy..' Sarita added.
'Main kyu bhooka- main bahar khaa sakta hu you know-'
Her eyes become sad. What did he expect him to do? Taste her stuff and compliment?
"Khaalo na Daddy.. Bahar ka khaana nahi khaate aisa bola tha na aapne mujhe.."
Vikrant gave up arguing. He stuffed a piece of parantha in his mouth while fuming inside. He just wanted to end up with one parantha, but the taste was so good that he couldn't help but go for two, followed by a cup of kheer. He finished his breakfast, his tummy full and a slight smile dancing across his lips.
Sarita too finished feeding Abhi and as she proceeded to take his plate, he noticed her eyes were looking.. satisfied?
She finally asked him unable to take his staring anymore. He was really staring at her.. err face? Eyes?
Embarassed he got up quickly. Hurrying towards the entrance he glanced at her for one last time. She was talking with Abhi, actually Abhi was whispering something in her ear. She broke into giggles while looking at him. Her eyes were now full of... mischief?
That TV anchor was right, eyes do speak volumes. They convey so many feelings which one can not convey through words.
Smiling to themselves, both father and son set off for their respective destinations after waving her a bye.
Half an hour later, Vikrant returned to his house fuming in anger. Abhi sometimes really got on his nerves. He finally managed to find the tab which was hidden in fruit basket by Abhi and as he began to leave he heard Sarita talking over phone with someone sitting on the sofa.
"main sirf yeh chahti hu ki Raj ji bilkul thik hojaye. aur jaldi tum dono ki shaadi hojaye..' She goes on her voice concerned, 'Main nahi chahti Divya ki woh aur meri ya apni zindgi mein uljhanein paida karein. Unki ajeeb si bartaav se main pareshaan hu. Mumbai mein bhi main Raj ji ko yahi samjhaa rahi thi. Unhe main baar-baar samjhaa-samjhaa k thak chuki hu ki ab meri zindgi sirf Abhi aur Vikrant j- mera mutlab sirf Abhi se hai.. Main-"
She looked up and noticed she was not alone. He quickly averted his gaze looking dishelved because her eyes looked honest once again. There was no malice, no lies. What she has saying was true.. she was a devoted mother and a wife too!
"Woh main.. baad mein baat karti hu. "
She hanged the call.
"aap yaha?"
He was too ashamed to talk and gestured towards his I-pad and leaves.
'Maine koi maryaada ka ullanghan nahi kiya hai.. '
'Woh pyar usi din mar gaya jab aap k naam ki mehendi mere hataaon pe laga tha..'
That evening:
"Oh koi baat nahi Abhi beta. Aisa ho jaata hai kabhi kabhi.. lekin aakhon ka dhyaan rakhna hoga.
Eyes jo hai bohot sensitive hai. Promise me ki aise sharp objects k saath dobara nahi kheloge.."
"Promise mamma!"
"Shukar hai zyada nahi lagi.. "
She hugged him tight. Vikrant could just smile at the sight before him.
"Kitni pyaari ankhein hai aap ke.." She kissed each of his eyes on the top.
"Mere Daddy ki aankhein bhi toh pyaari hai.. Kabhi unko compliment kyu nahi kiya?"
"Aap k papa ki aakhon k baare mein kya kahu?"
"Ab woh aankhein hai bohot pyare.. "
" Smile karne ko bolo toh problem, kuch different khaane ko bolo toh problem. Aur jab koi sawal karta hai toh.. ankhein dikhaate hai. Arey mere bhi aankhein hai, unke wali se size mein badi. Aur main bhi aakhein dikhaa sakti hu.."
"Haan waise bohot kuch kehti bhi hai unki aankhein, lekin woh chupaane ki koshish karte hai. Main bhi dekhti hu kab tak woh chupaate rahenge. Accha aap yahi rukiye main abhi aap k liye juice lekar aati hu.."
'"Daddy aap kab aaye? "
"Bas abhi! Yeh bolo kya masti kar rahe the tum.. dikhao chot toh nahi aayi na?"
"Nahi.. Mamma hai na, woh mujhe chot lagne nahi degi."
"Woh toh hai.. Kya baatein ho rahi hai mamma k saath?"
"Daddy Mamma kehti hai unki aankhein aap ki ankhon se badi hai.."
"Haan woh toh hai.. aur beautiful bhi.."
"Mr. Suryavanshi aap? Aur Abhi k moo ko kyu band kia?"
"Mamma!! Mammaa.. dekho Daddy aap k-"
"Kuch nahi..." Vikrant tried to cover up again.
"Aap k aankhon k baarein mein kuch.."Abhi pushed his hand and managed to speak.
Sarita gave an angry look.
"Kya.. meri ankhon k baarein mein kuch? Kya kaha aap ne?"
"Kuch.. Kuch nahi.."
"Dekhiye saaf saaf boldijiye! Meri aankhon ko koi comment karein mujhe-"
"mamma Daddy compliment de rahe the ki aap ki aankhein beautiful hai!"
"Nahi aisa maine kab-"
"Jhoot mat bolo Daddy!" he could hear Abhi's voice from afar.
"Maine toh sirf yeh kaha ki.. aap ki aakhein gol hai, badi hai aur.. achi hai."
"aur beautiful?"
"Haan. Arey Nahi.. nahi main woh.."
She smiled shaking her head.
"thank you.."
Her eyes were now happy, shy? May be both at once. A geniune smile made its way on to his lips. If she could say thanks he could say sorry too. And he's sure they will remain this way as a happy family. And he definitely needed to thank that tv show and its anchor for making his life easier!
