There must have been a reason that Sarita went ahead with the marriage despite knowing Raj loved someone else:
1. She may have been a very timid/quiet girl. She shouts and is strong now, but that may have been caused by what she has faced the last 10 years. Back then during the marriage, she may not have had the confidence to walk out.
2. Even now, walking out of marriage is socially harmful...esp to the bride regardless of the circumstances...so think of the situation 10 years ago. She may have discussed the problem with he parents but they may have felt that it was too late to cancel the wedding since she may not get another suitable groom.
3. She was probably convinced that he'd change after marriage and eventually fall in love with her.
Now the real question is, why Raj married her if he wasn't going to forget Divya and love her. Why ruin an innocent girls life?
